jeez Leroy you have drawn the short straw with your job centre! Is there anyway you could pretend to move and sign on somewhere else? like get you mum to say you live with her so that you could sign at that local jc??

it is possible to change jobcentres without moving. i know someone who has done it. i dont know how you go about it though. both jobcentres are in the same borough. i dont know if thats relevant.

is there any way of finding out what the deal is at the alternative Job Centre? Maybe hang around outside and catch people going out until you meet a post WP person (they won't be hard to find - they are growing in number by the day)

and if they are not being as ridiculously harassed as you are it may be worth a move

of course it may be pointless as the new JC will know you moved and watch you like a hawk

but then if their procedures are different and less punitive they wouldn't be able to bother you without you being able to report them for it

as for my course the final week we are being nannied by a ghastly Polish woman with the sense of humour of a bowl of water who makes no secret of the fact that she thinks she is superior to us and therefore doesn't need to make the SLIGHTEST effort to connect to us as human beings

but she still feels she has the right to bark at the top of her voice in her horrendous Eva Braun Eastern Bloc accent all day

I'm determined to get through the week and not "get into it" with her - she's threatened by our group because we all got 100% last week which our last tutor told us was rare

we don't fit her "thick doleys" stereotype

she's horrific. But that's ok because at the end of the week we get a feedback form and we mark her out of ten and are asked to give our basic feeling about her teaching style

I'm composing my answer already and its only Tuesday

    Where does it say that?

Accessing your UJM acct if you have one does not show your job searching at all it only shows you logged on to UJM and you do not need to log on or have an acct to 'search'!!

Why do you keep asking that ?

No, DWP/Jobcentres cannot access your account without your permission, as it's not legal. It's your account, it belongs to you, shows your UJM internet activity at home & anywhere else.

Don't believe any clueless JC staff trying it on, who say this will happen, trying to force access to your account. They lied to many when UJM first started.

i ask because yesterday i was told by an advisor that when the uc came in they were going to be able to access your account. If not try why are advisors giving out this information?

This rumour is spreading quite rapidly and you're not the first to be told this. It does seem to be linked to the introduction of the Claimant Commitment but it is just rumour and I see no way they can ignore data protection principles which is why you do not have to give them access now. Unless the DPA is being changed (and it is but the regs are tightening not easing) I see no way they can get access to what is private information.

Giving the Jobcentre access to your account gives them access to everything you have access to - they see everything!
