well think youreself lucky mate, you dont have to sighn daily like i do, its not so bad now i got my car on the road but its still annoying

where do you live Leroy? You can tell they are making it up as they go along from all the different things people are being made to do from JC to JC

it makes it very demoralising to know they are just hassling you for the sake of it

if they just left us to sign on fortnightly it would make absolutely no difference to anyone it would just be less paperwork for them

the whole mind set is like the old Victorian work house moralising when people thought the "undeserving poor" were morally inferior and could therefore be treated like crap

they need to modernise very radically starting with the basic ethos they work with which is about 150 years out of date

i live in dorset mate, bournemouth to be exact, i really hate one of my advisors to, and im the sort of easy going person keep myself to myself ya know i just wanna get in and out of there with as little hassle as possible, but that one advisor really gets to me, i hate the way she thinks its her job to look down on everyone who sighns on and even when they have prooved they are doing more than the minimum to look for work, she doesnt care because for her its about feeling good about herself and treating every person who comes in as a liar

this is the one who allways keeps me waiting unless she thinks i havnt turned up, then she is straight up there to call my name, i was 4 minutes late and came in and they said she put me down for failure to attend, bit harsh isnt it? considering she allway keeps me waiting at least 15 minutes and i can see shes not busy seeing someone, but its not just that, she should take her own advice, so when shes late i should be able to say she failed to turn up. its like she thinks her sole job is to ignore anything i say and just try anything she can to snaction me.

the other advisors i see are actualy nice and i dont mind seeing them. but this one i hate with a passion, every time i come out from an appointment with her i feel demorilised and depressed, bbut the other advisors i feel more positive because they listen and there general attitude is better and more positive.

don't let the !!!!!!!s grind you down - Nick The Pr*ck my advisor started really mean but I kept on being super nice to him even tho it was killing me and now he's confused as f**k about me - but he at least has stopped the antagonism - still wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him tho

    she sounds like a biatch

lol yeah she is mate for sure, theres a couple of em in there like that but then youd have to be like that a little to take a job where youre sole purpous is to look down on people.

i could never do a job like that and wouldnt want to neither

I imagine you'll be back to normal fortnightly signing. The daily signing regime is really only for people they think are working while claiming benefits to try to disrupt their daily routine. It's also to make life as difficult as possible for you in the hope that you'll sign off, it has nothing to do with helping you back to work. It hasn't succeeded with you so it should be back to normal.
  • The whole 6 months period after the failure that is the WP seems designed to pyschological torture people and it's only the details that vary for each jobcentre
It's been commented elsewhere they are making it up as they go along as they didn't expect so many returners or the total failure of the money-grabbing providers

Absolutely. But the Jobcentres have limited resources and can't keep up the intensive regime for ever, especially as each day brings new WP returners. I think that's why you see a big push on the jobseeker at the start and it then falls off and returns to relative normality. Time will tell.

yeah well they seem to love it as long as they are making it difficult for you, theres no way shes gonna just let me go back to normal, its either gonna be mwa or some common sense course

As part of my post WP punishment I'm now on a course run by yet another outside company called Training Associates which is every day for 3 weeks including seeing the JC advisor afterwards a couple of times a week ( I have to go there after the class tomorrow)

The guy on the course is nice and its a pleasant building and well run - they bring subway sandwiches in every lunch - so it could be worse

the actual course is terribly boring tho - they say things like "is it tension relieving or goal achieving?" and "think outside the box"

    oh please

there are people there that do not speak a WORD of English (and I mean not one word) But that's another story

it's going to be a long three weeks

glad your daily signing is over Leroy - well done for not punching someone! Hope the next torture will be if not a waste of time at least something that is not a total downer

the worst I can say about this is that its dull and useless - but its well run and the staff are very pleasant

it was the Work Programme that failed and yet we are treated like the criminals
