Well I'm getting sanctioned already :rotfl:

Thought I had longer to complete my "homework" than I actually did. I'd wrongly assumed that I had until my next appointment with my advisor to carry out a task. But apparently it was to be done by the next signing date, even though my advisor wasn't explicit on the matter.

    Lovely!

If you were told to do this verbally then just claim that you understood it was to be done by the next appointment. It wasn't a mandatory activity because that has to be notified in writing in the correct format with dates, actions required of you and warnings of the consequences of not taking the actions by the given date. You shouldn't have any problem overturning any sanction doubt.

    Not true unfortunately.

I'd already been given a few verbal directives a couple of weeks ago.

They certainly record things at their end. But I haven't been given a copy of what's been recorded yet!

Possibly part of their new "get tough" policy?

It's certainly true if this is the Work Programme provider we're talking about. Just look up the WP provider guidelines, it tells you all about the requirements for mandating someone in there.

Oops sorry. My mistake. I'm on the post work programme. Although you have given me a few ideas. The only documentation I've received from the job centre is my job seekers agreement and yet they expect me to know the ins and outs without even receiving any documentation on the new rules.

I was informed by the tutor today on this tedious "C.V. course" that despite being told on the induction day that I'd be helped with finding Teaching Assistant positions as part of the course they don't actually do that - he said it's mainly building site work and shop work that they can get people

(as if you need to go on a F**K*ng three week long course to find a job in a shop or a building site - I could do that tomorrow)

so my plan to have work by the September term as a TA has gone down the swannee because I'll spend the rest of August sitting bored out of my head instead of contacting people and colleges

being punished because THEIR Work Programme failed

thereby keeping me on benefits till at least the January term - the benefits that they are trying to harass me to stop claiming

    you couldn't make it up

You couldn't work on a building site unless you were holding a cscs card.

The WP is a pile of dog excrement, it is a disaster that has happened and has failed more than it has helped.

Well I've calmed down a bit thanks to a few whiskies. My guts have been in knots all day because of my "indiscretion" The attitude of the job centre staff is bizarre how they try to put the entire blame on you :rotfl:

Training Associates that is running this C.V. course for the JC is being sanctioned themselves by the DWP if they do not refer enough claimants to be sanctioned

if the WWP find out they have been lenient on claimants that should actually have been sanctioned they sanction the Training Associated company

and we are the lambs going to the slaughter

you can trust the Tories. To be Tories

    Can't say I'm surprised......

Just wondering how long it will be before everyone on post WP will be tucked.

my advice to anyone on the WP currently is to get off the dole while you have the chance because the stress of the post WP harassment is not worth the JSA money

I wish I'd known this was coming when I started the WP 2 years ago I would not be claiming now
