The Work Programme New Thread

I just wonder what type of people have been told they have to do that.
They were arranging a placement at the botanical gardens for someone who used to be a landscape gardener but who couldn't do that kind of work anymore after illness (didn't go into details) and specifically said "you won't have any problems with this one, he's not a time waster" :eek:0 -
If anyone lives in West Yorkshire, 40 jobs were advertised in the YEP tonight working for Parks and Gardens, digging, labouring etc.
These are proper paid jobs, not anything to do with the work programme. But I thought I'd tell you in case someone fancies applying.0 -
well if the converstations I overheard last time I was at the wp just about anyone who hasn't found a job in 12 months of starting the WP.

I thought the WP only started in June 2011?
Be interesting to see what they do at mine in a year. Well I wouldn't have actually been on it a year as there was a 5 month gap when they lost me! :eek:0 -
Whilst I am here on the WP thread. Has anyone asked for any computer courses at their provider? Like advanced Excel?0

See one problem about the WP (not your fault you heard the converstation) is that it's not private. All your personal info can be heard by anyone in the room.

Really, can they afford to pay their rent/mortgage and run a car on them hourly rates.i think if you do the maths you will realise why someone who is currently on jsa etc wont be applying to leave themselves in a destitute situation.Dedication dosent pay the rent.
One thing i can assure you is a workprogramme provider will be in touch with that company asap.I wonder why:T0 -

Yes i have, and the Jc ,answer = NO been asking this question since 2010. All irrelevant training will be provided though at a cost of billions to the tax payer.:T0 -
I think they mean for people who have been told they have to do the MWA while on the WP.
As i understand it, if youre on the WP and refuse to do MWA or anyother thing they suggest you do then sanctions can and will be applied, its exactly the same condition of an indirect threat as sanctions were with workfare !:T0 -

I love that "everyone else has said it was helpful":T its a bit like the old crap line of "weve never had a problem before with this" answer = you hav now! It proves that they just want everyone inline like robots in a neat row and apply the green ticks to their success rate charts or rather total lack of it. They fear anyone who speaks their mind, and will always disagree even when your right.0 -
