Bashing people over the head, introducing ever more punitive crazy over the top regimes does not mean it will work and help jobseekers get jobs.

do it by 9am on the day after boxing day and they will still see it at the same time as they would if you applied 2 days earlier. that is assuming they are going to work on recruiting for a job then. if you like spending xmas day doing jobsearching then thats fine its a free country. you wont convince me its essential though and you wont convince me it is right for the jobcentre to expect people to give up their usual xmas day activities to spend the day jobsearching. even back to work schemes usually shut down for the week.

Why would a company advertise a job that goes live over Xmas and not really re recruiting. Name me one big firm in London that closes their office at this time? I have never heard of it!

What if a recruiter is only going to read the 1st 30 CV?
What if I didn't apply and then 32 people applied on Xmas Day!?

What Xmas day activities can anyone have?

The WP was open between Xmas and new year here & the JC was too.

I do not have to convince anyone to job search on any day of the week but you will if you are really looking.
