Well had my first appointment at the job centre post WP and it was vile! Woman kept trying to pressure me into agreeing them to have access to my ujm account and only stopped when I told her I would never agree and to stop or I would request a manager.

They are sending me on a three week European computer driving licence course miles away when I have decent IT skills already. She also kept talking about work experience and when I challenged she said it wasn't mandatory work activity. She didn't set any dates for this so I will print off the FOI request for my next appointment.

She also removed any of the jobs I am professionally qualified to do from my job search as its been too long and I won't be able to do them any more!

She kept saying she couldn't understand why I didn't have a job and what did I do all day etc. By the end of the interview she was slightly more civil as she clearly realised I was not daft and wouldn't be putting up with her nonsense.

Also edited to say that I had to agree to job search 5 hours per day and apply for a minimum of 10 jobs per week.
Just curious......did your adviser mention how long this new regime will last and what will happen once it comes to an end?

So they ask you what you do all day then want you to look for 5 hours a day. Erm there is their answer surely and if you were doing more each day that makes no sense at all

Just for info - Under universal credit rules jobseekers have to commit to jobsearch for 35 hrs per week, and demonstrate that they are actually doing this to the DWP in order to receive pymts of UC.

I do a lot more than that and its reflected in the amount of jobs I apply for.

They have told me many times 'you are writing down too many'

1.There is no time off for a job seeker. It is a FULL TIME job
2 Wrong as all the live jobs on the net do not go live immediately and there were loads all dated 25th December last year.

3 Most places do NOT shut down at all. You must mean factories!
a full time job still provides time off. full time job does not mean no free time or no time off at all.
how many calls have you recieved from employers on xmas day or boxing day asking you to come in for an interview?
most places do shut down have you ever noticed the difference in traffic on the roads over that period. even those who still work dont work on the recruitment process during that time. they know no-one is going to want to go to a job interview on boxing day.
you sound like one of these people you see working at a wp provider.

the first question i will ask is how do you suggest i demonstrate this. i think a simple way out for anyone struggling to do that number of hours is to just put down they spent all day walking around handing out cvs.

businesses in London do not shut down at all

At my last job we worked till 5pm on Xmas eve and back in right after boxing day. I do not know anyone who works for somewhere that shuts down

Traffic may be less as wait for it................people book time off between Xmas and new year as some offices run in skeleton teams

I never said an office will interview you on Boxing day! That's a stupid thing to say

    Clearly ludicrous.

This is the impossible clueless Tory nonsense JC/DWP staff sign-up to & have to implement.

You repeating parrot fashion this stuff only shows how stupid you are.

And Universal Credit is in chaos !

ray shut up for god sake. tell your DWP work mates to hurry up with their info on my did not attend MWA due to FOI info... You make me sick so does your colleagues.

Government needs to see WP is a drain on resources and cut the cash flow pipe to them.
