I sound like a need to be on a motivation course? Really? I bet I am the only one here who looks 365 days a year for jobs.

How can you be 'on the lash' with no job and no ££? I know I can't even leave the house!

Not sure how you think it don't matter if you get one or not but that's your choice

    I was just kiddin' ;)

I still have some savings.Sorry to hear about your situation though :(

Because I know how the jobcentre operates.

You must have been out of work 3 years so wow your savings have gone far! I had nothing saved :(

If you know how they operate then maybe it would have been a good idea to get the exit report from the WP!!

No idea, I haven't seen it.

The jobcentre will probably ignore it for their own agenda anyway.

Although if you've had recent "work experience" you'll be safe. At least for a few months.
it maybe a good idea to find yourself voluntary work.

You must have been given a copy? People here have had theirs

I am asking for mine as I was told the WP send it to them so I want a copy

    What is recent?

The JC can not get us work experience in the job we did before we were out of work. Who needs experience when they have 20 + years

They cant seriously think that sticking an accountant in Tesco for 8 weeks will get them a job in a firm in London! LOL
they expect people to be willing to do any job and will stick them in whatever work experience they have available. this is assuming your adviser has decided you should do it.

My local jobcentre wants me to do a stupid fortnight course that includes more cv "help" and interview stuff so they claim I need to wear my interview stuff on at least one day

The "adviser" was also on about more placements or a placement with a virtually guaranteed job at the end of it
a big part of why they send people on placements or training is because it eases their work load no doubt.

    Why not Xmas day?
    1. everyone should be entitled to some time off.
    2. everything grinds to a halt at xmas time and you will run out of things to apply for.
    3. most places shut down for at least a week so theres no point applying for jobs between xmas and new year if they wont look at them until after new year.

    Hi hauxwell,

The purpose of the post Work programme regime is to get you off benefits as quickly as possible in any way that they can, with harassment being the preferred option. No one should be in any doubt about that. It's good to hear you stuck up for yourself though. Many claimants either don't have the personality to stand up to this barrage or don't have enough knowledge to defend themselves (or both) and that's a pity.

Your experience will obviously vary with the temperament of the adviser you are assigned. Judging by other people's experiences so far I'd say you didn't get the worst but neither did you get the best.

Please, everyone, keep posting your post Work Programme experiences back at the Jobcentre so we can monitor what they are up to.

1.There is no time off for a job seeker. It is a FULL TIME job
2 Wrong as all the live jobs on the net do not go live immediately and there were loads all dated 25th December last year.

3 Most places do NOT shut down at all. You must mean factories!
