Aye, the work experience crap came out of the blue. No mention of it by the WP provider.

    Yes, it's 8 weeks long.

    Possibly nationwide?
maybe not I think its all depends on the exit report you get from the WP

    What did yours say?

Did they recommend a work experience thing?

No idea, I haven't seen it.

The jobcentre will probably ignore it for their own agenda anyway.

Although if you've had recent "work experience" you'll be safe. At least for a few months.

You must have been given a copy? People here have had theirs

I am asking for mine as I was told the WP send it to them so I want a copy

    What is recent?

The JC can not get us work experience in the job we did before we were out of work. Who needs experience when they have 20 + years

They cant seriously think that sticking an accountant in Tesco for 8 weeks will get them a job in a firm in London! LOL

  • My local jobcentre wants me to do a stupid fortnight course that includes more cv "help" and interview stuff so they claim I need to wear my interview stuff on at least one day

The "adviser" was also on about more placements or a placement with a virtually guaranteed job at the end of it

Mine said nothing about my work experience, what they would claim is progress etc
My big (only) constraint was ............unemployment
So I think that the jobcentre is back to the "one-size-fts-all" approach, my adviser dared to claim that employers like placements as they show a recent work history and I have done loads of placements and not gotten anywhere

the wp was one size fits all so the jc will be no different at all

I had a text message to pick up the "exit" paperwork but didn't bother.

Purely at their discretion by what I can see.

You'll probably be offered some sort of work exp. admin role if you're an accountant ;)

Oh aye. I now have to search/apply for jobs 3 times a day, every day on UJM. Including christmas day lol

Why not Xmas day? I job search 7 days a week and took my laptop to my sisters on Xmas day and emailed my WP that day with the weeks worth of job applications

Erm yeah who do you think the JC has contacts with for office based jobs? I have never heard anyone get a work experience placement in an office and even so these are NOT jobs!! How is work experience doing admin going to help anyone get a job I don't know. I have still been out of work this long and nothing changed that and the discrimination I have experienced

You didn't bother to get the exit letter? Why not? It probably says to send you to work experience on it

Because I'll be on the lash like many others on this board.

They will probably have some sort of admin role available for you. You do sound like you need sending on a motivation course though ;)

Because as I alluded to earlier on, it's inconsequential.

I sound like a need to be on a motivation course? Really? I bet I am the only one here who looks 365 days a year for jobs.

How can you be 'on the lash' with no job and no ££? I know I can't even leave the house!

Not sure how you think it don't matter if you get one or not but that's your choice
