The WP was open between Xmas and new year here & the JC was too.

I do not have to convince anyone to job search on any day of the week but you will if you are really looking.

well you can do as you wish. everyone else will be realistic.
you never said how many interviews you have ever had at xmas.

What? No one interviews on Xmas day or Boxing day but that as you well know is not what I am saying

But that stupid statement alone you are telling me not to apply for jobs on a Saturday as their wont be open for business!

I know someone who got an interview for the day after Boxing Day and got the job.

i dont just mean xmas day, boxing day, i mean the whole period from xmas eve to new years day. how many interviews do you usually get in this period. its not impossible of course but the liklihood is very small.
i'm not telling you to not apply for jobs at any time its upto you. i am saying everyone is entitled to time off especially during holiday periods and the chances of hearing anything during these periods is dramatically reduced.
a regular saturday is not the same as a holiday period. having said that the liklihood of someone looking at the app before monday morning is very small.

the majority of people are off. if a company does not close they often just have a minimum staff in doing the most important work. they dont have them going through cv's and doing job interviews. you seem to think the period is just like any other week. of the few jobs that appear very close to xmas the majority are probably with a view to start the recruitment process in january. i sympathise with liklihood that there is something very wrong in your life to want to spend all day xmas day jobsearching.

The majority are not off. No one I know has a company that closes at Xmas!

You seem to NOT understand in all the jobs I have worked in, it is just like any other week

We even work till 5pm on Xmas Eve and NYE - no going home early!!

There is something wrong in my life yeah..............I have no job so wait for it, nothing else to do on ANY DAY of the week then look for jobs!

On Xmas day last year I had to send my email to the WP so was doing a lot more than just looking for jobs.

What were you doing? In the pub? :O

It is not off topic as the poster who posted said the JC said they have to look for work in Xmas Day Donnajunkie says you should not have to as every office in the UK closes and no one runs a business between Xmas and NY - that's why they are advertising, no!!???
