Yeah 3 times a week is overkill, weekly signing is bad enough! im sure i will be sanctioned soon as the direction i had last Wednesday to ring every job that i have applied for and ask why i haven't heard anything :P

You can pay my phone bill then JCP.
    .

Can you use the jobcentres phones? Lots of people wont be able to afford loads of phonecalls to employers.
Also employers are going to think your a right joker ringing up and asking that.

This highlights how out of touch the JC staff are as if a employer is going to say anything when you call or even recall your application.

lol. I was told by the WP to ring up places I'd applied for. My advisor said ring 10 minutes after applying to make sure they've got my CV and then they'll look at it right there and then.

10 minutes after might be difficult when I apply for many in evenings lol. Plus how long does it take for some to go through the systems? I might be phoning up just as they've been told about it which would just look really weird.

Also, I imagine most will look for a name, see it has been sent and just say they've got it. I doubt many would take the time to look at when you phone.

Turns out I didn't apply for any I could ring for various reasons. I didn't get sanctioned, I just had to explain why I hadn't. I guess it depends on who your advisor is and whether you have a good reason to not have rang them.

Personally, if I'd advertised a job online and wanted emailed applications only I'd be really annoyed if people kept ringing me up :p

These clueless JC idiots have been locked in a cupboard for years & are completely out of their depth.

will they pay for the bill?

If not then I would suggest you ask why not? I cant afford to pay a phone bill that's for sure.

Some of their ideas are just cause they have nothing really useful to say.

    Most companies would either

1> not put the call through to the person as they would be too busy to talk to a caller

    or

2> just say 'I will get back to you if you have been shortlisted'

You are putting the employer on the spot with these cold calling hard sell techniques

guys do you think i should untick the box that lets them look at my account, every time i go in there they keep asking, its getting on my nereves now, i had i advisor today who was covering for my normal one and she said, oh jenny said you were going to untick the box, i have never said to her i would untick it, in fact i made it very clear i would not, why are they so desperate?

she reckons they cant see anything and only want to do it for jobsearch, and said to give them a chance, untick it for a few days and if you dont like it you can tick it again. not sure what to do now. thing is my thoughts are why should i make there life easier, if they want me to untick it so desperately then why not let me sighn weekly, compromise.you do for me, i do for you type thing, doubt that though.

I can assure you that jobcentre staff and labour market decision makers DO have lists of what are 'good reasons' for non attendance at the jcp office.
but they dont let us know because they want to make things hard for us.
