for me it all feels a lot calmer I went in to actually sign on today and Nick The Pr*ck my advisor was actually reasonably pleasant

I asked "when am I to come in next" and he said "when would you like to come in" I said "in two weeks time to sign on!" laughing

he said "I'm being mean aren't I - that was a very cruel question"

he always makes a little comment ot two like this disguised as an off the cuff remark but it's actually him getting off on being 'in charge'

I honestly couldn't care less - let the baby have his bottle

He DID however let me off a going in again tomorrow and said "oh don't come in for that we can do that today and add it to your signing on day" and changed it to Thursday

("there you are! - I'm giving you two days off!")

he looked at my Universal Job website list of applications (he had to ask the woman next to him "how do I show I've looked at his search record? What do I click?")

Even though he is a creep I would not trust as far as I could throw I feel that if I play the game and go in when they say I'll be ok - this may of course be a trick to lull me into a false sense of security

I do feel calmer about the whole thing though - I have been so stressed Iwas almost ill with it

You said 'it says let them know if you cant make an appointment and they will try and rearrange it for you. it then says if they cant rearrange it you will be sanctioned if you dont turn up. so basically they are going to do people over and say they cant rearrange it arent they.'

    So that don't make sense

You have said if you cant go tomorrow and you tell them they will TRY to re arrange but if they cant the apt stands and you will be sanctioned

Like I said what does it say word for word as I cant believe it says that

More like IF they re arrange and you then call in again to say you cant make it then you will be sanctioned
    ok word for word.

do i need to come to the interview?

yes. to continue being paid jobseekers allowance, you must come to interviews when asked to do so. if you cannot attend at the time you are asked to, you may ask to re arrange the appointment. if we cannot agree to re arrange your interview your benefit could be stopped if you do not attend, unless you show us that you had a good reason for not attending.

and that's how it has always been

they tell you a time and you cant go so you ask for another and if you cant go to that then that's it. Unless at the doctor, hospital or dentist you should be able to be at the JC any time they say. I know I would be

it clearly says if we cannot agree to re arrange your interview your benefit could be stopped if you do not attend.

You will need a very good reason to not attend a jobcentre meeting and would also be expected to re-arrange non urgent gp, dentists appointments etc around the jobcentre meetings. The jcp meetings should be treated as if you was at work working for an employer.

yes so? If they say your apt is Friday at 10am and you say oh I am at the dentist so they say ok what about Monday @ 9am and you say sorry I am going shopping with my mate I think that's where they are going to stop your money

You cant keep saying no I cant make that date/time
