IDS needs to have less of an obsession about the most disinfranchised in society and their mindset

how about a little more energy trying to change and mindset & thinking of the multi-nationals avoiding tax and the bankers who put us in this mess in the first place

    1) Making you sign weekly is in effect another benefits cut, as you have to find bus fares for 2 extra weeks a month. (obviously you're not effected if you walk to the JC)

2)If you are made to go in daily, it wont be long before someone informs the tit Osborne that refunding people their fares is costing millions extra.

I haven't got to the daily signing yet - my JC is 10 mins walk from my house

next week I sign on Monday (my usual day) and then Tues & Wed I was told today I have to attend a stupid 2 day course 9 to 5 doing god knows what

probably more coersion into being factory fodder for Tesco's - I'm terrifed I am tricked into agreeing to be put up for crap jobs and then when I say I'm not stacking shelves in a freezing meat warehouse in Dagenham for £120 a week they are then able to say "well then you are refusing employment" and stop my money

after that who knows - this "advisor" Nick is a real Pr*ck - I think I'll christen him Nick the Pr*ck

I tried to ask what the long term plan was just because this day by day being told at the last minute is real torture and so stressful and he goes "oh I can't tell you that - got to keep you on your toes!"

the truth is if someone is working cash-in-hand the JC doesn't want to tell them a schedule in advance because they'll have a chance to change their job hours to suit signing

but why doesnt Nick just explain that? because he's a pr*ck that's why

sounds like you were unlucky there bud, i got left alone on the work programme, no courses, just 5 minute 1 2 1s, most the time id get there and they wernt there and stuff

no this isn't the wp - I've just finished it - this is the Job Centre

this is the punishment regime for coming OFF the Work Programme!

why are WE the ones being treated badly?

like it's my fault the Work Programme was a load of old Tom Tit

@Leroy28 yes I had the same experience on the Work Programme - the woman cancelled more than I did and if I told her I was going away to visit my elderly mother she was delighted

after the first few months the rest of the 2 years just slowly slid into more silly policing about job search

If they change anything they should tell people at the start of the 2 years "if you dont get work off the Work Programme in the 2 year period you have to go to the Job Centre every day so be aware"

I took my cue from the advisors there and just went through the motions for 2 years like they did - if I'd known it was going to go into this I would have made sure I was out of the system by two years

who knows - the Work Programme might even been a way to find a half decent job!! altho somehow I doubt it

I think the way this has been sprung on people coming off the WP is very unfair and badly thought out

when in doubt start treating claimants like crap as though the entire situation is their fault because they are the ones with no power to defend themselves

unbelievable, i now have 2 appointments with my provider next week on the same day. i am pretty sure the second one is something i have already done. however i am not going to try and get out of it coz knowing my luck they wont take my name off the list and if i am not there they will put me down as not turning up. so better to just put up with it.

this is like psychological torture - it would be interesting to see if there's a human rights issue with some of this process

I'm quite a strong minded person and I'm at the end of my tether so god knows how vulnerable people are managing

signing weekly will cost millions extra wont it. signing on costs the country money so doubling it doubles the cost surely.

i couldnt be bothered grumbling in the end. i will be finished after next week so theres no point in making an issue out of anything with them.
i dont claim it but it would be funny to claim travel twice in the same day.
