saw my advisor today after being in the JC for 4 days running for various forms of harrassment and he said "how has it been"

I said "it's stressful - not knowing if I'm going to be sanctioned as soon as I put a foot wrong"

he then said "that's what we are here to do" and gave a false snigger

I said "what sanction people as soon as they make a small mistake?"

He then covered his tracks and said "only joking only joking"

of course he was deadly serious and just sneakily handing out a little bit of mind-f*ck for me to go away and think about

so i take it you are daily sighning now like me? post work programme yeah? do you live far from jobcentre? also i know what you mean by small thing, that is just wrong because as long as you are proving you are making a good enough effort to look for work they then shouldnt be able to sanction you for one small thing

How is daily signing helping you to get a job?

probably because they realise they will have to reassess the situation every now and then.

Hassle & harass, not help, to encourage people to get off benefits or find work or both.

Daily signing will expose the incompetence of out of touch Jobcentres, DWP & staff.

As IDS says it's about changing the mindset & thinking of claimants.

I haven't got to the daily signing yet - my JC is 10 mins walk from my house

next week I sign on Monday (my usual day) and then Tues & Wed I was told today I have to attend a stupid 2 day course 9 to 5 doing god knows what

probably more coersion into being factory fodder for Tesco's - I'm terrifed I am tricked into agreeing to be put up for crap jobs and then when I say I'm not stacking shelves in a freezing meat warehouse in Dagenham for £120 a week they are then able to say "well then you are refusing employment" and stop my money

after that who knows - this "advisor" Nick is a real Pr*ck - I think I'll christen him Nick the Pr*ck

I tried to ask what the long term plan was just because this day by day being told at the last minute is real torture and so stressful and he goes "oh I can't tell you that - got to keep you on your toes!"

the truth is if someone is working cash-in-hand the JC doesn't want to tell them a schedule in advance because they'll have a chance to change their job hours to suit signing

but why doesnt Nick just explain that? because he's a pr*ck that's why

What midset is that? You cant not encourage people off benefits when they are doing all they can do to get a job.

I hope I do not have to go there daily.
