so where are u at now mate in this whole thing, still on work programme?, anyway whatever you do do not give them permission to look on youre universal jobmtch site, she hates it and keeps mentioning it to me, shes like, oh you still havnt given us access, im like NOPE, the thing is id happily give them access if they said ok you dont have to come into the jobcentre everyday but we will check youre account to make sure you are applying for jobs and that, why cant they do that? ive got nothing to hide but if they want to make my life akward then i will makes theres, it really seems to bother her as well lol



well hey !!!!! dont you think forcing me to degrade myself coming into the !!!!!! jobcentre everyday is annoying for me.

officially i am finished in a couple of weeks time. i have a long weekend away booked a few days after and i am worried that the jobcentre wont let me go. i am not giving it up. if they get difficult i may have to sign off for a few days and then do a rapid reclaim.

its crappy mate isnt it, so were in the same boat then? both finished the work programme, so youre going in daily like me then i take it? sorry if youve allready said you go in daily im not sure if i read you were going in a few days a week, id like to know because i dont want to be treated diferently

how long has it been scinse you finished the wp ? im just wondering when she will start with the mandatory courses? ive only been going in everyday for 1 week now. she hasnt mentioned any courses so far but i can see shes really annoyed i have not gave acces to my account and am wondering if she will get her revenge lolol

I can't believe how naff the whole thing is - it's pointless

I'm wondering if they'll treat us like this for a few months in the hope we break and go away and work in Tesco's to make their stats look a bit better

Then it will settle down to fortnight signing and being left alone

as for being treated differently I'm in London and I have a feeling they have more rescourses so they can afford a whole variety of courses and harrassment whereas where you are the JC just has the funds to make you sign every day Not sure about this tho - reading this thread people seem to be getting made to do a lot of different things rather than a blanket one-size-fits-all schedule and I think it goes by the area in the country and the money they have available to spend making peoples' lives miserable!

i feel youre pain, the courses are what i dread, as so far its not been to bad for me apart from the daily sighning, what are the courses likie mate? how long they make you stay there for and how many days, i could not handle a full day at a common scense course at all. thats all they are arnt they, common scense courses?

do you allow them to look at youre universal jobmatch at all?

sorry for all the questions i just like to compare notes so to speak. see what im in store for, im guessing youve been daily sighning longer than me? 1 week, for me, thats probably why ive not been made to go on a course YET. she has not mentioned anything about one though.

you could be rite about the location thing though, ive read many people doing differnt things but that was on the work programme, not alot of people talking about post workprogramme from what ive read on here so far, im interested to hear other people experiences

the main tesco around here has a waiting list of people wanting to work there.

Funny you mention Tesco's, I was just browsing as I just had another pointless appointment with an advisor on the W.P

They call me in for no reason at times to just discuss where I am at with my job hunt, which i believe could easily be done over the phone. Anything done at the W.P centre is usually done more productively at home. For example job search with a number of people in the room distracting you with their conversation's of which hot girl they picked up over the weekend does not help me when im applying to jobs.

Well basically the whole Tesco's thing comes in here.. The only jobs they seem to offer to people are jobs in supermarket's and hotels and even the hotel jobs are of the cruddy spectrum. They tend to be graveyard shift's

But I'd like you guys to hear my story which I believe may be happening with a number of others.

I was invited to a pre screening for Tesco's, its run by the advisors at the WP and usually a way to find the most employable people whom they then send on to the companies to interview.

I got passed all staged and even passed interview with Tesco's and landed a Job (although Tescos was not really what i was looking for).

I decided a Jobs a job and was slightly happy at the prospect of an increased income. I worked in the store for 3 months with another person who landed the job because of the WP. Obviously we had a 3 month probationary period, end of the period Tesco s decided we helped them enough as we were only recruited for the Olympic period and decides to discard of us. Now I know for a fact I have seen several faces come in and out of the W.P. People who have got jobs end up back there and i believe its because companies have quick access to us unemployed individuals for any period we are disposable to them. Anytime they need some back up staff they take a few then when we've served our purpose we are disposed of. I would like to see the W.P offer more stable and higher end jobs that are not only coming to use and abuse vulnerable people. They know we have no choice

I think I'm about a week ahead of you - I had a careers advisor telling me about ECDL courses

as I left she casually informs me "I will be checking that you looked into the courses"

In other words I'll have to do the course or get sanctioned

actually I need PC skills so I'm ok with it as long as the course is well run

my advisor Nick The Pr*ck who is a snake with a rat's head - super friendly and NOT to be trusted told me he was looking for every chance to sanction me "that's my job"

he then said "only joking" but I know he wasn't

he was being a creep

so if I dont go for the ECDL course he'll jump on that and stop my money so it's as good as mandatory

he himself has put me on 2 days 9to5 next week for some careers CV advice crap

As for them looking at my UJM site I have given them access but have been writing stuff down on the work recod book and taking that in but I think he is deliberately letting me let that slip so he can use it against me

I know I sound paranoid but I'mm 55 and I've been around the block enough to know the vibe from this guy and the things he's said make me pretty certain I'm right that he's out to cause me trouble and it's only a matter of time

where you not tempted to say i have been on the wp for 2 years do you not think they have already given me help with my cv. of course i can understand how it is easier to just tolerate it. if your cv is good the tutor will see it was a waste of time sending you there and wont be able to do anything with you. they may just change your cv for the sake of it. so make sure you have a copy of your current cv somewhere safe beforehand because you may not like the new one.
what do you mean letting it slip? do you mean he doesnt ask to see it? if so just keep them all and if he tries to sanction you by saying you havent done them then you can just make a copy of them and send them with your appeal via recorded delivery.
