i dont live too far away from the jobcentre so it wouldnt really bother me having to do a jobsearch there everyday. it would only be an issue if i have other things to do. for example i do voluntary work, i go away for long weekends fellwalking.
do you have to queue up to use a job point? i imagine the queues will be massive if they start mandating people to use them everyday.

yeah thats what i thought but it didnt seem to be any busier than normal, but then sometimes it gets packed, she asked why i hadnt unticked the box that lets them look on it, i said cuz ive heard bad things, she was like oh but im quite layed back, im not looking to get you into trouble, but thats the whole point isnt it? i felt like she was trying to get me to think oh go on then, but i was like im gonna have to say no on that one, why not take advantage of our one rite we have left

I have never heard of it

10 hours would be enough to sign off at say £10 a hour

Yes I have to give in pay slips and still have to jobsearch and the job pays nowhere near £10 per hour.

I went to another appointment yesterday this time with some really chavvy woman who said she was a "careers advisor" - when she's not drinking - spouting all the ancient crap about having a C.V. that sells your strengths etc.etc.

also committed me to a ECDL course which is mandatory

then today I see my job centre "advisor" presumably for yet more time wasting nonsense I have to commit to - probably this meaningless farce of going in to use the stupid job points every day

I can't see an end to this - I also can't see any point to it either

why are we being punished because their work programme failed?

I'll do the ECDL course because it's MAYBE something worth having ALTHO THAT'S DEBATABLE but mainly because if I'm at the skanky sh*thole "college" I can't be at the job centre

Was toying with that idea, but I pay no NI in this job

I get no benefits at all as I own my home, not even council tax as my OH works full time hours and get the WTC and CTC.

Eventually these daily appointments will run out of steam as you'll have nothing to talk about, except same old same old & they have little to offer.

You'll just be going round in circles.

well its early days. over the next 6 months more and more will be getting refered back to the jobcentre from the wp. it will reach its peak towards the end of the sixth month and after that it will level out as people start getting refered back to the wp.

indeed, if doing a daft course gets the jobcentre off your back then its preferable.
