that was when people ONLY applied by letter and its not like that now

But companies had the common courtesy to reply to letters, it's very rare I even get a reply to an email these days.

I can back up what imatt is saying, have been though the horror of it several times.

This is an American idea, Wisconsin model.

In this country it was pioneered by Emma Harrison

The programmes were rolled out in areas that had been devastated mrs Thatcher, starting with Sheffield and spreading, like a cancer, across the Northwest and north-east of the country, the irony being that it was LABOUR MPs that were the keenest to host these parasites and claim the European funding that came with them.

New Deal and Flexible (flexible as in like a brick) New Deal preceeded the current WP. Sessions were not at the Job Centre but held at the offices of Working Links, A4e, BEST (Now Interserve), G4s, Serco, etc. New and Flex New Deal were infamously riddled with inefficiencies, lax standards, non-existent courses and poorly trained staff.

Not forgetting fraudulent claims by those providers to secure funding.

These things often start with the best of intentions, but as soon as the money people get anywhere near them, zap, they are gold plated and turned into a cash cows, and the bureaucrats always hijack the way they are run and interpret the guidelines in the strictest way possible, forgetting that they are actually supposed to be HELPING people.

    Mission creep, if you will.

I see that the goverment has now backed down over their forceful insane and totally illegal comments on what happens to work program leavers.

They have now changed the wording from saying they will force leavers to give up their legal consent.

Now they say they will only check their accounts if the client has given them their consent.

Who are these idiots who writes this without knowing the legal issues.

Untick the box. you know it makes sense.

there really is no room for anyone at mine and no toilets to use either so they would have to address that if making people spend more than 30 mins there
yeah, they dont have toilets in the open to the general public areas probably incase they get vandalised or set on fire. they will obviously have to provide some sort of toilet if they have people there all day on courses. the chances are 121 appointments will be at the jobcentre and anything else will be contracted out.
