Does anyone know if you Have to tell the work programme your employer's details when you get a job? I really don't want the work programme to receive what I understand is a large amlunt of money, for not helping me at all and for on some occasions being quite cruel. Is there any way around this? I hope that I don't have to give them the employer's details , I will be so angry if they benefit from me finding work off my own back

The reason people starting work used to tell the jobcentre where they were starting work was because you used to get a hundred quid (or 250 if married) back to work bonus, and four weeks rent and CT run on from the council. No one gets that any more, so there is no reason to play ball with them.

You don't need to tell them what you are doing, only that you are signing off, in fact, now I come to thing about it, it's probably better to not tell they anything.

Thank you everyone for your replies.

It's a part time job that I may or may not have, so I will unfortunately still have to sign on as it can be a minimum of zero hours and a maximum of 20, and likely around 10 I think. Therefore I will still have to sign on and declare the hours I work. Does anyone know if the WP get paid, if I am in a part time job for more than six months? Or is it just a full time job?

I really hate the work programme and have managed to find a job which will suit me for the near future, whilst I get my health issues sorted out, I am just wondering if, if I take this part time job, will they pressure me to get another job? or will they get paid regardless of whether it's PT or FT? Whilst I will be so angry if they get paid an extraordinary amount, for no work, I would accept giving them the details and them getting paid, if it meant they would leave me alone whilst I have this part time job and get my illness issues sorted out.

If I did work part time and the hours were uncertain and I wouldn't know which days I'd be working etc, would they still bring me in every week, how would it fit around working?

    Sorry for all the questions!

    Many thanks

    I did!

It's all automatic, I told my WP advisor I had a job, but I still got the letter. I don't think they know how to stop them being issued. In fact, that girl didn't know anything about the system.
you will only get a letter if the provider refers you to a decision maker. it isnt automatic. they arent forced to do it. they do it because its their policy to do it. if you have started work and are no longer signing on then you need to state on the back that you missed the appointment because your claim ended 2 days earlier. send it by recorded post as well.

i think they would push you to get a fulltime job. what they expect of you wouldnt change. they would probably work appointments around your part time work. although if a job interview clashed with your part time work they may expect you to still attend the interview.

    Thanks for replying

Would the work programme not benefit financially if I worked in a part time job for six months? Or is it only full time jobs where they're rewarded if a person works there for longer than six months?
I was thinking that if they do benefit whether it is full or part time, if I am working part time what would the benefit be, to them, of me looking for full time work if I had a part time job?

    Many thanks again
