Hi. I had a similar experience with Pertemps in Stoke a couple of years ago. I attended the initial interview and they offered me 2 jobs that I could not do and really tried to initimidate me. Fortunately I ran my own business for 10 years prior to getting me disability so I did not let them get to me. I immediately contacted the Disability Employment Advisor (DEA) at the JobCentre and was moved to another work program.
If anybody is not happy with their work provider contact the DEA if you have a disability, or write to SERCO. The jobcentre do not give feedback to SERCO about work program providers.

Good luck to all seeking employment.:)

Hi again. I though I would just follow up on my previous reply. I found a letter the Jobcentre sent to me after I complained about Pertemps. It states 'If you have a complaint then you should use Pertemps Internal Complaints procedure', - fat lot of good that is when it's Pertemps management that are causing the trouble. Probably better off writing direct to SERCO and sending copies to the Jobcentre.

    Val.

They need to pay NMW for jobs to be filled by people on JSA if they in fact have a job to give.

Some people like me are due to end in about 7 weeks and nothing has been said at all to me
at the moment it is expected to be along the lines of community work. so no chance of a job. the one positive from this is they cant con you like before on new deal and say if you work hard theres a chance of a job. also for anyone tempted theres no reason to not commit a crime if you are doing community service anyway whether you do something wrong or not.

been subject to some dodgy tactics from my adviser who told me i must register on universal jobmatch because the jobcentre expects it. i pointed out they cant legally mandate people to register. the response was no, they just cant mandate you to allow them access to your account. by the way according to my adviser anyone who doesnt like the universal jobmatch site and doesnt want to register is someone who doesnt make much effort to find a job. nice eh?

    edit.
by the way when i say adviser i mean a work programme adviser. not a jobcentre one.

cant be bothered to read all that but i did notice you can be mandated via a jobseekers direction. is that the only way? whats the difference(if any) between a jobseekers direction and them saying you must sign up?
what if you tell them you dont have access to the net.

If you read the rules, to comply with the law on cookies and anti tracking, you can choose NOT to use your own or any other none DWP computer for UJM.

That means, they must book you into the jobcentre to register. After that, when you fill the forms, you can choose NOT to allow the DWP access to your account.

Also, if you are not I.T. savvy you don't have to sign up, though they will send you on a course, no doubt.

On the work programe, you can apply for jobs on the UJM without signing in, you don't have to give them your password (in a cookie) and if they say you do, tell them they are breaking the law, and request a grievance procedure.

If they still demand your password, request that your permission to share your data is withdrawn.

There are at least 500 people coming off it from my WP provider and they wont have any jobs of any sort for people to do and that again still does not address the issue of getting a job

    The WP has failed

it seemed to stem from me being about to leave the course and my adviser thinking that the jobcentre will expect people leaving the course to have signed up.
