not everyone is good with computers and unless an employer specifies online only then you can apply other ways.
and if you see a job on Reed it is pointless for someone who is not good with computers to search for the agencies website and address and then type a letter on Word and print and post - all using the computer and printer etc

basically cut the bulls**t. it is possible to do applications through the post. this will cost a provider money and they wont like it. if you dont want to do that or want to try and think up reasons why you shouldnt do that then fine dont do it. it makes no difference to me.

You are the one with the non stop !!!!!!!!

Who SERIOULSY writes letters and send them in this day and age?

Most people PHONE or email ASAP not wait till they go to the WP then write letters and send them 2nd class to take 2 days now on top to get to the agency etc. Someone then has to open the post and yeah lose them or it don't get to the correct person at all. By the time this has happened the job is FILLED!!!

well the WP finally got in touch with me. My last contact with them was 2nd Jan but on the letter with my next appointment they said I had missed my last appointment. So I phoned them up to see what they were on about and apparently I have missed 6 appointments.......6 appointments I've had no notification of AT ALL. The person I spoke to said they had been sent out in the post but I'm sorry but I don't believe that at all. One letter going missing I can believe but not 6, and if that was the case why didn't they phone me or refer me for a sanction?

I know they phone who miss appointments because I've heard them on the phone while I've been waiting for my advisor. Something dodgy as hell is going on here and they better not try blaming me for it. I've got enough on my plate at the moment with my health without them causing problems for me :( I've had 3 panic attacks today because of all this and just had to take some diazepam.
  • I imagine they've been caught parking people and instead of owning up to it they're just claiming that people have been missing appointments. Are you on JSA?

I missed ONE apt as their head office sent me a random letter without me knowing and they the providers office put me down as not attending

That is !!!! if they are telling you , you have missed SIX

One letter missed yes so why did the not email or call you then when you missed the 2nd, 3rd or maybe the 4th alleged appointment?

I guess because they have not sent any letters at all to you!!

No I'm on ESA, I was on JSA when I started with them but my health deteriorated last year and eventually my GP decided to put me on the sick so I started claiming ESA.

Thats going to be my argument too if they are funny with me when I go to the appointment I've received (which isn't for over a month anyway) Apparently the last appointment I was supposedly sent was for Monday just gone and the first I heard of it was when I phoned them today to find out why on the letter it claimed that I had missed my last appointment.

there is no way in hell they would let you miss SIX appointments and just tell you now

I suggest they are lying and I find it very hard that they have made no attempt to contact you at all.

Make sure you tell them that and they have your phone number and email etc as a FASTER and fail proof way to get you.

I'll point that out to them, they not only have my land line number (which has an answering machine so they could leave a message for the rare occasions I'm out) they have my mobile and 2 email adresses for me. I've had NO form of contact from them in any form since the letter I got for the appointment in Jan. I found it earlier in my "job stuff"draw I'm planning to take it to show them at the appointment. I kept it because it was the only thing I had from them with their new phone no and address on, if I had received the other letters I would have thrown the old one out, surely?

I believe they said they had sent letters when they realised they had 'left you in the wilderness' for so long and it was all they could say to not look more stupid.
