I am sure mine don't like me already as I have challenged them on a number of things plus my letter of complaint but if they can't run the service now they won be doing it in a years time.
often when a provider does lose a contract the new provider employs some of the people who worked for the previous provider.

So what? They will all be out of business soon as far as the WP goes. Even some of the staff at my provider have already been made redundant - some of the managers!

the government will ensure that these things always exist because they are vote winners.

The WP is a vote winner? LOL I have voted Tory since I was 18 and I will not vote Tory next time round, in fact I may run myself haha :)
  • Another Work Program person checking in! So far, I've had 3 'meetings' with 3 separate advisers, all of which basically them filling out the paperwork for me to sign, and 2 'supported job searches' which basically seem to be exactly what I do at home, just with less biscuits.
The chap I saw today, shrugged his shoulders, said my CV was perfect, and he couldn't think of anything they could do to help me. Hurrah! Thanks for this wonderful plan! Work placement hasn't even been mentioned, and I doubt would do me any favours at all. Meanwhile, at the Job Centre I seem to have been placed on the express line, I walk into a little room, sign my bit of paper, and thats that. No job search requests, nothing. So I've gone from at 6 months(I think) having a adviser meeting weekly, to back to two weeks, and now, basically monthly.
Surely there has to be someone, somewhere this is actually helping?

you only need to look at recent history to know that a party with right of centre policies usually wins.

I think if we find that person, we get a prize? LOL
  • The whole thing is silly, the only people who benefit are the advisors as its keeping them in a job and the providers. Instead of spending millions on this the Government would be better off topping up peoples JSA by a few quid so people are not living in hideous poverty.
Everyone knows about how bad unemployment is and that there are no jobs hardly. Its just absolutley stupid.
The only thing that will help the unemployed are more jobs which will be caused by economic growth. Period.

they need to pay the employers to take the unemployed on instead of giving thousands to the WP
  • I hear what your saying, however, it still wouldnt lead to sustainable employment though because when the grant ran out- the person would be out of the door. Unless it was a very long term subsidy.
