I've done that nowsee what you need to do like I have (but never been asked for it or needed to use it) is get that list on an email of all the sites you use and
1> email to your adviser
2> email it to yourself on a hotmail acct
When you go there you log in to the hotmail acct and click the links and then you do not need to write them all down
The only reason I didn't do it before is because I thought they would already be bookmarked on their computers, seeing as its supposed to be "guided job search".
I stupidly assumed that it would be something more than just being plonked in front of a pc and told to look for a job. It was just lucky that I had my book with the list with me.0 -
When I was at mine in Jan I saw all the PC's with people doing job searches , no idea whyI've done that now

it ridiculous. I do that every day at home, so why I have to go and do it for one hour every few weeks at their offices I have no idea. It's a waste of my time and their money (I got my bus fares back this time but I had to ask for them, so thanks for letting me know that they had to refund them if you hadn't told me I still wouldn't have got them back) They aren't helping me at all. When I was at mine in Jan I saw all the PC's with people doing job searches , no idea why0 -
Oh I am glad you got the £ back! did you know they can pay for trips to agencies and interviews too? You have to obviously email them the details like who you are seeing where and when etc and then claim either before you go (but still havign proof like a ticket or oyster statement if you are in London) or after.it ridiculous. I did it when I finally went to see them after a 5 mth gap and claimed £10.40 from them.0 -
I didn't know that about interviews etc either, money wasn't discussed at all with me. The seem to like to keep that little bit of information to themselves lol0

The reason you have to go to the centre is so that they can see you doing it. They dont know you are doing it at home. Plus I also think its puts pressure on you and if you are working on the side it can mess up your plans.:footie:0 -
of course they know you are doing it as you would have a list of all the jobs you have applied for.The reason you have to go to the centre is so that they can see you doing it. I don't have to do it so they must trust me but then again no one has ever asked where I look for work or what I do etc. I provided them with that info and they said not to keep sending them stuff on email as it was far too much......shame that.0 -
but they don't even see you doing it there, you are put in a room with a bank of computers and left to get on with it. I could be on facebook for all they know. One hours job search every few weeks isn't going to find someone a job if thats all they are doing anyway lolThe reason you have to go to the centre is so that they can see you doing it. I do get your point about working on the side though, that said if you are working cash in hand it's going to be a pretty flexible arrangement anyway so I doubt it would catch that many people out.0 -
next time you are there ask them can you get support for travel to interviews. This was the first thing I asked them way back in July when I was asked 'what help do you need' and I said I needed money to help me to interviews and I was told they could do that so have said since they said it they have to follow it through & they did.I didn't know that about interviews etc either, money wasn't discussed at all with me. yes it would only work if they called you today and said can you come in tomorrow which they dont as you have 2-6 weeks notice on the next appointment.but they don't even see you doing it there, you are put in a room with a bank of computers and left to get on with it.
