well average walking speed is supposedly 3 miles an hour.

I might give it a go..

For anyone wanting a light hearted break from job searching, have a look at this Twitter account, it's a satirical look at the JC, so funny!!

There is no way Id walk 7 miles to mine taking over 2 hours and then spend and hour there and walk back wasting the day! lol

    Would anyone seriously walk?

Single parent? Finding it tough working & caring for kids? Why not let the state being up your kids in one of our new Child care centres?

When I first started at the WP they asked what I felt my biggest barrier to returning to work was and I told them that childcare for my son was a huge issue as there just isn't any in our area. The advisors first suggestion.....well you could send him to live with his dad  Apart from the fact it was the first time he had ever met me, knew nothing about me or my sons relationship with his dad it still didn't address the fact there is no childcare in our area (ex works full time)

This was the same advisor who told me that it was perfectly legal to leave my (then) 10 year old son alone over night so I could take a care work job. The job started at 10pm and finished at 6am. His argument was that ds didn't need me in those hours, he'd be asleep by the time I left for work and would be back in time to get him up for school. He said this with a completely straight face! I laughed in that said same face and refused to ever see him again, when I told the new advisor why she was horrified and insisted I must have got the wrong end of the stick and he was only joking. He doesn't work for them any more, at least not at the branch I have to go to.

No just them to put it in writing that without the consent form they get no funding and they can not pay your travel then use a copy of this and send it to their head office and one to your MP and get them to explain that.

no other Wp provider has said that so I am 99% sure they are trying a fast one as they know no one will really sign if they dont have to.

started a stupid course with mine today thats stopped me doing my voluntary work. it was supposed to be 4 weeks. it is now 5 weeks. the bloke in charge seems alright but the course itself is bo**ocks. it is going to be the usual stuff of how to make a good cv, dos and donts in interviews etc. whats worse is we have to build up a portfolio of crap for a pointless qualification. we had to go through the humiliation of maths and literacy tests. they are pointless because if you do badly are they going to say you dont have to do the course? of course not. will they change the content and make it easier? of course not.
Sounds just like the 'course' I've just started. I'm currently sat here trying not to look too bored!!!

You need to sign off BEFORE you get refered if you have already been refered but even though not see at the WP you will automatically go back to the WP

    Why would you sign off?

well as i said i dont think from all ive read on here their service would help much, and as im not paid any money from them just a stamp .... it would seem a waste of time going there. and i would just carry on searching in the same ways i have before ...and as i only have a few yrs of credits to go for pension im not to worried about that as can always make them up by paying for credits .
