you would need to sign off before they refered you. so its too late i'm afraid. i know this because my official start date on the form i saw was the date i got refered and not the date of the first appointment. so basically if you signed off and then signed on again within 2 years you would get refered straight back.

i see what your saying but i have not been referred yet that is what the meeting in 2 weeks time is for to go through it all, but i will now speak to the advisor before hand regarding the wp and the voluntary bit to see what options are best ..... if i knew the wp was a good way of getting help id go anyway but most people have a very poor review of it.

You have a meeting at the job centre or at the work programme ?

  • Hi all

I joined to ask advice. My advisor today asked if I would be alright with personal care (bathing people). I said I don't think so but he said you will be ok and I am sending your cv and by end of week you will get a phone call for guaranteed voluntary work.

Do I have to do this as I am actually worried sick at the thought of doing this. Can I be sanctioned for refusal bearing in mind it's not full time employment on offer.

I'm actually doing a pc course at present once a week.

Don't you have to be checked by the police for this?

yes, they must have a crb check before working with a vulnerable group.

if you havent got an up to date crb check done they wont be able to take you. if you have then i think your adviser is allowed to make you do a work placement of some kind. if you dont want to do it i guess you need to try and think of ways to sabotage it subtly.

you cant do it then. they should ask when they call but if they dont then tell them.
    edit.
just to add you cant do it until you have had one done which takes time.
