well my appointment was at 4pm, it's a 10 min walk and 20 min bus ride to get home and I've been back in the house for 10 mins already.

Shows how long I was in this appointment for lol. (though I MUCH prefer it to the hours job search) I have to go back in 2 weeks for a similar appointment.
they phone people once a fortnight here. i would rather have the fixed appointment in the office than be sat waiting for a phone call.

these work programmes must employ thousands of staff. unemployed people are part of an industry it seems.

I do wish someone would tell us the point of all this!!!!:mad::mad:
to make your life hell because being unemployed and claiming benefit has effectively been deemed a criminal offence.

Been on this WP a year in 6 weeks time and only seen someone 5 times in that period.
you need to realise this is a good thing because even if you had been there everyday it wouldnt have made any difference. you need to realise this and if you get an easy time keep quiet about it as far as the jobcentre etc are concerned. if they ever change and become good then just take it as a nice surprise.
basically, rubbish and hard time equals speak up etc.
rubbish and easy time equals keep quiet.

As for this proposed work for your benefits, I think they will have problems with Euro court over making people work a 30 hour week for 70 odd quid, it breaks the Govt's own minimum wage laws for a start.
they will get around it the way they have always done. they will transfers people onto a training allowance and call it training not working.

I do realise this, more then you know.

I have spoken up and I have a VERY easy time and you all seem to have a bad time and are doing things you do not want to do.

Oh I didn't realise that I thought that NI still get paid even when someone is being sanctioned and it was only the physical money that got stopped.

Why don't people just sign off then if they get sanctioned?
once a sanction has been applied it will restart if you ever sign back on again. everyone would do it to beat a sanction otherwise.

If you get sanctioned from what I gather you get nothing at all.
people can apply for hardship payments. if they have a partner with an income or savings etc they wont get it.

Which begs the question, how are they being funded? Ive seen on my providers website they advertise for advisers paying from 18k to 24k, then they have rent on a huge office, the phone bills must be astranomic, they are refunding your travel costs and yet get nothing until you get a job.
they will claim the travel costs back from dwp. so thats part of why its so odd that they are so particular when it comes to proof of travel, its not their money afterall. some think they need something for their records but mine refunds plenty of things that dont come with a receipt or any sort of proof. for example passport photos for a cscs card. they are still awkward though and make you show them the photos before refunding the cost. to me this proves what i was saying all along and that they dont trust us.
yours is advertising for new staff? i have heard mine is making staff redundant due to their lack of success overall.
