Just say you could no longer afford the car on the pittance you get on job seekers and it was so worthless you scrapped it.

Making people worse off by spending the majority of their minimum wage on travelling, hmm great idea.
Wanted a job, now have one.

So you travel to the interview, get the job and then suddenly you have a few grand to buy a car before you start! How do you think that would be possible?
credit maybe and get a second hand car.

if people can restrict themselves to public transport even though they could drive they could turn down jobs that are only 10 minutes drive away. i am not saying you are wrong. i am just surprised.
there has to be one rule that works for all though doesn't there. I can't imagine any reason why someone with access to a car would turn down a job that they could get to in just 10 mins though. (as long as they didn't other issues such as caring responsibilities that is)

No they can't as a 10 min drive away could be 30 on a bus!

LOL You are going to make someone get into debt? What if they can't or do not want to get anything on credit?

And a you can get a second hand car for how much? £5?? LOL

    Seriously that is so stupid.

they specifically make a point of putting i rely on public transport on my agreement. why would they do that if it applies to everyone regardless of what travel options they have? again i am not saying you are wrong. it just seems odd.
a work shy person could turn down a job that is 10 minutes drive away because the rule seems to allow it.

Right if there is NO public transport how would anyone get to work? Thought of that?

Also if they have a car no one would expect them to get a bus that don't exsist would they?

probably because buses end and start at a certain time.
