The Work Programme New Thread

  • Hi guys,

I just finished my first 16 weeks on the work programme with a company called JHP Training.

In all honesty they weren't much help at all. I attended every 2 weeks for about 20 minutes just to sit on a job and do a search (Which I did at home anyway)

I have been changed to a provider known as i2i, can anyone tell me anything about i2i and how they are likely to work?

    Many thanks

Right if there is NO public transport how would anyone get to work? Thought of that?

Also if they have a car no one would expect them to get a bus that don't exsist would they?
there are places i cant work due to there being no buses that go near there. if i had a car i could get there. it has been said that jsa rules dont include usage of a car even if a person has one. so that means a car owner could turn down a job if it was located somewhere where there is no public transport.

LOL What rubbish. Sorry but that is. Do you mean a mobile?
No one can be made to buy with their own money a mobile. Are the provider going to give them the £ to do so and keep it topped up with credit? I doubt it!

If you were talking to this person on the WP you surely then have advised to put in a formal complaint to the WP providers head office and get it in writing that this is what they want the person to do , with the threat of the sanction? Hmmmm

JSA rules DO apply to people with cars cause if they didn't why do they ask you 'do you have a car'? Why then also have I said to people 'I can't get there as I do not have a car'?

The thing is people might have a car from the days when they received better wages but not be able to maintain one on minimum wage.

Then if they can't maintain it on NMW why do they still have a car on JSA!?

Maybe they had the car before jsa and things like insurance and mot and tax were paid when they were in work. I have a car on jsa but not for much longer as it's going to fail the mot and insurance is due and tax is up soon. I will inform my provider of this when i next speak to them, but they did say they would fund a repair bill if i found a job that required a job.

If you are on the WP you have been on JSA for at least a year -meaning the insurance, MOT and tax would have at least been re newed once so I do who you would do that on JSA. MOT, tax an insurance would at least mount to £500 a year.
