LOL What rubbish. Sorry but that is. Do you mean a mobile?
No one can be made to buy with their own money a mobile. Are the provider going to give them the £ to do so and keep it topped up with credit? I doubt it!

If you were talking to this person on the WP you surely then have advised to put in a formal complaint to the WP providers head office and get it in writing that this is what they want the person to do , with the threat of the sanction? Hmmmm
i told them a few things. i said ask for it in writing. i said tell them he only has to follow things that are on the action plan. i suggested seeking advice from cab. i also suggested complaining. i then got the impression he doesnt want the hassle and i think he is going to give in to their demands.

JSA rules DO apply to people with cars cause if they didn't why do they ask you 'do you have a car'? Why then also have I said to people 'I can't get there as I do not have a car'?
well they either take into account where people can get to with their car or they dont. if they do then surely the 90 minute rule does apply to where they can get to with their car in 90 minutes.

They must have a lot of money then!

If it's not in writing they do not have to do it

I have no idea how far someone with a car is made to travel in time as I do not have a car and do not see how someone can afford one on JSA anyway.

i was talking to someone on the work programme today. they dont have a phone and have been told if they dont buy a phone they will be sanctioned.
Some people working for the providers will pressurise people & lie to get what they want.

That's why private companies are used by DWP as they can do this & get away it.

They can't get away with anything if you open your mouth and say something.

If you are on the WP you have been on JSA for at least a year.

Not necessary you can volunteer to go on the work programme and know atleast 2 people that have. Plus you could've had say a few weeks work from one of these agencies to afford to keep the car on the road. And still be referred back to the work programme as they are with you for 2 years.

never been with them, i am with eos, but at a guess i'd say they were like any other provider.

but from a quick search on google i have seen they are a recruitment agency that have diversified into delivering the work programme.

More fool the person who asked to go on it - it's no different to signing on.
