For my sins I gave my provider my mobile number only ever contact me if they have a job i can go for which I really don't mind actually as I am looking for work.
These days you need a mobile phone for employers to contact you for interviews and such, I have never had a letter through the post confirming an interview but I have had calls and email confirmation. People without phones are really limiting their employability. I would also ask my provider to give me the cash for the phone too.0 -
every interview I've ever had I've first been contacted via email or phone call and then the majority of them sent a confirmation letter through the post.0

more annoyance from my advisor today. firstly she wants me to do a training course simply because i happen to be doing voluntary work related to it. i have no chance of getting proper employment in it due to health reasons and lack of a driving licence. she also wants me to do another course just because i have work experience related to it when yet again due to health reasons i have no chance of getting a job related to it.
she said i arent forcing you but i strongly advise to you to do it. i thought so you are forcing me to do it coz if i dont you will give me a hard time in some way.0 -

just went to have a look at the website of the course provider and it was blocked due to it being infected by a trojan. :doh:0

I've not read the whole thread - mostly because it is 30+ pages long and I have other things to do this afternoon! However, from what I have seen, it is entirely negative. Apologies for anyone that has posted anything positive, but as I say, not read the whole thread.
However, I thought I'd post something positive about the scheme. My son was referred to them a few weeks ago and I have nothing but praise for his advisor. She is supportive and understanding. She's found him a good jobs to apply for (one of which he should hear about tomorrow) and has called after every interview to get feedback from him and give him feedback. He has been given vouchers to buy shoes for his interview and all his travel costs have been met. He has also been told he'll be given his first month's travel when he secures a job. When he was unable to attend the job centre to sign on due to an interview she phoned them and got his appointment moved with no hassle. His money still arrived on time.
I think they have been excellent. Perhaps people should look to their own attitudes? If you expect the worst, you go into something with the wrong mindset.0
