I found it harder to find a job when already in work many say it's easier but i never found that to be the case, and it's even harder now fighting those who want to move jobs and those who like me are unemployed.0

I agree with other posters - the majority of us are hard working and have been kicked out of our jobs due to U.S bankers, NOT OUR FAULT!! We are demonised by everyone, despite myself having paid in 30+ years of contributions I am consigned to WP, I am ex JCPlus and HMRC, with a wealth of experience, skills and qualifications and willing to do anything! I too have applied to the local Asda/Aldi etc but despite dumbing down my CV can't get past the sift. There are no jobs! and the few that there are - part time (being single and kidless thats no good for me!). WP is unfit for purpose - cheers for kicking me onto the dole Providers! They are jumped up salespeople who threaten, bully and intimidate but, they have no teeth - the DWP still hold the baton of sanctions to beat us with!
I find the WP - snivelling, irrelevant, condescending and downright liars. I was told Money Advice Workshop is mandatory - when I said I was a QBE Accountant - it no longer was! These workshops are to find out IF you can be pushed into part time work (they work out if WTC etc will make up any shortfall between benefits and work) Its a big con and these Providers are thieves - I paid tax, they are stealing off me and then treating me with contempt!
I follow all the DWP Provider Guidance - no action plans, no signatures, no release of my data, phone number, CV etc etc and they leave me well alone, because they are fully aware I know my rights, the law regarding WP and what is and isn't allowed.
Phew - rant over.0 -

Taking Joy111's views at face value, they do expose a major flaw with the WP and the providers tasked with delivering it. Namely, they do not know how to adequately deal with people who are qualified and experienced.

How often do we hear that people on the WP (and the previous ND/FND) have better literacy and numeracy skills and qualifications than their advisor? How many times have 'clients' shown themselves to have far superior IT abilities? This often results in clients being presented with an advisor producing CV worse than they already had and not understanding basic terms within a given industry or sector.

And, whilst I'm sorry to sound gloomy, (I really am an optimist by nature), this will get worse as more and more people are made redundant from the public sector. This will include people with management and clerical experience who will not take kindly to someone who they feel is 'wet behind the ears' telling them the bleeding obvious. They will also not look favourably on the 'dumbed down', one size fits all nature of the WP and the way it is currently being delivered via the W2W providers.0 -

Exactly right.
He first tried pretending to be only an ignorant fool but quickly revealed himself to be a fool and an ignorant nutter out for a bit of trolling.
One can only hope that he and all his relatives soon find themselves out of work and stay that way for the rest of lives.0 -

You can't get a job unless you are offered one.Wanted a job, now have one. :beer:0

Incorrect - providing courses means they get money. Money is all they're interested in. Bums in seats = money.
I noticed the online Boots application process illegally discriminates against people with certain disabilities, by using Psychometric tests. To be fair you make people jump over hurdles like those test, and all you do is end up recruiting a big bunch of liars who are happy to say what they think employers want to hear. Hardly a great quality to have in an employee.
1. there are no courses on my WP
2. Some Psychometric tests are fixed. One question I think for Primark was something like 'if I a customer comes up to you and says "do you have this t shirt in a size 12" what would your answer/course of action be'
Well I have worked for House of Fraser, Harrods and Bentalls in my time so I think what I was always taught & did there but that is the WRONG answer for somewhere like Primark as they just want £££ in the till and not to be wasting time tryin to source that t shirt in that size. Sell them something else.
You therefore fail the test as this is not what they are looking for. It's not cause I have put the wrong answer, it's the wrong one for their company.0 -
Lol, sounds almost like telling people they're worthless pieces of $h17. *VERY* motivational.0
