The Work Programme New Thread

LOL responses as expected - and from the usual posters. To be honest, we've not had any of the problems you all claim - clearly we are lucky and you're not. I just thought it fair to balance the complaints with a compliment.
You all carry on whinging and whining to each other - feeding off each other's misery. I have far better things to do than to wade through your miserable ramblings - off to catch some rays0 -

For someone who's work shy I've filled in 3 application forms just today. 2 of them are sadly 0 hour contracts but I'm so desperate I'll try anything I can physically do right now. If I don't get a job soon I really think I'm going to crack up (well I already have but thats a whole new post lol)0 -
The whole thing is absolutley mental- they know theres no jobs, we know theres no jobs, yet there is an ongoing pretence, that its the jobseeker that must try harder. This suits the Tory ideology.
It would be more honest just to say it like it is, but they wont.
I think what would be a better idea like someone elce said on here would be to guarentee a full time minimum wage job for everyone whos been unemployed for a year or so.This is instead of paying these silly providers to get unemployed people to try harder.
They will never get results because its impossible- because the work isnt there.0 -

but your son hasn't ACTUALLY got a job yet................
I find your comments offensive - I am "not the usual poster" but even if I were my comments were valid, honest AND borne out by other professionals on this board
your attitude MIGHT change when your son still hasn't managed to secure employment and they are hounding him with inane suggestions such as " do you know how to conduct yourself at an interview?" from an adviser with BO and a very strange sense of business dress- who is earning approximately £15-20,000 less than the claimants they are seeking to help.0 -

Yep, those first in line to get jobs will be those who already, or recently had a job for a long period, and those without disabilities. Employers can pick and choose these days.
Or if you are over qualified too goes against you. No one is going to take on someone with loads of experience for a junior role when they know you are going to leave as soon as you get something better.0 -
What really gets on my nerves is when people say things like "just get a job in a shop/cleaning/admin etc while your looking". This just shows how little people understand about the current situation, theres not even that much going in these areas.0
