was this a ghost ?

No-body on here is trying to make money from the bereaved.A few people on here are sharing their experiences. Things that have happened to them.
I don't see any of those people needing to prove to those who don't believe. Like I said believe what you like. Not everything can be explained away with science.
The OPs question was "Did I see a ghost?" - it is obvious that there are going to be some people who will flat out state that ghosts don't exist because that is their opinion. But just because someone believes something that might be a little off the beaten track to some of you, it doesn't mean they need to justify themselves to you or prove what they know. Any more than you should need to prove to them that they are 'wrong'.
But if someone posts an experience on a public message board then it is somewhat reasonable that other people may choose to comment, critique, evaluate etc. what they have said and sometimes that will be people who want to offer their opposing point of view.
If people don't want to have their posts discussed then they just need to keep their thoughts off the board. I don't post graphic details of my sex life because, frankly, I don't wish to invite comments on it, particularly given every sex related thread round here gets many, many replies!0 -

My point was no-one on here writing their experiences has anything to gain other than sharing their experience.
You have a very hostile, aggressive manner in your posting.
I am gracefully bowing out of this thread.
Pointless discussion going round and round about the same tired points with people who just want an argument.I have realised I will never play the Dane!

Yet I don't see anywhere in which Person One suggested anybody on this forum was trying to make money.
You may consider my posting manner to be hostile, I consider yours to be condescending.0 -

Erm, I simply observed that the comforting nature of these superstitions is what allows con artists to manipulate people and relieve them of their hard earned money.
Unless you're a con artist it wasn't about you.0 -
what is the DI, sorry to be igno...I do not contest this experience because you had your senses which actually caused you to feel "stone cold";I have heard people describing this experienceI did not have this yet. This was the only time you experienced it?You must have loved very much your mum and she must have loved you very much. Sorry you lost her.Is there some kind of telepathy with the loved ones? I have heard but not read the topic.
There is a tale (and it may just be a tale) that robins are loved ones coming to tell you they are OK.

Like I said round and round.
My point in replying with saying that no-one was trying to con anyone out of money was in that people are just relaying their experiences here with nothing to gain but that.
Tropez, you seem to have a victim mentality, going on and on about people being condescending when you are constantly attacking them and trying to get them to prove their beliefs to you.
And now I really am leaving because there is no value to this going round and round...
Like I said believe what you want and let others believe what they want.I have realised I will never play the Dane!

I thought you were bowing our gracefully?
I haven't actually attacked anyone.
I have presented counter arguments to what people have said but that isn't attacking people, is it?
Once again, discussion forum - if you post something it is a possibility someone else may post a conflicting opinion. You appear to take some sort of issue with this.
People are quite welcome to believe what they want to believe, which they will anyway, even if I did have a problem with it. People are free to post their own experiences, and despite what you may believe, people are free to express their disagreement.
I'm guessing you're new to forums given you don't seem to understand the "discussion" aspect of it. Here's a couple of other tips for you - you kinda need a thick skin... disagreements are pretty much par for the course... and secondly, whenever someone posts they're "leaving" they're usually back at least once.0 -
As for explaining things away, why not? If people's sensibilities are put so out of whack because somebody dare offer a scientific explanation for an experience then perhaps they should not be on a discussion forum talking about it?People are always going to believe whatever they want to believe; if they change their minds because of something they read here then their belief wasn't very strong in the first place.

Indeed but apart from describing it as bollox no-one has yet tried to offer anything like a scientific explanation for the first experience I described and there have been a couple of attempts to write off my second described experience as "coincidence" - nearest word I can find to describe the comments in the round.
That's not very fair. I actually responded to the person saying it was bollox with a rather length, and possibly quite boring post, in which I gave a number of scientific possibilities for your experiences (and by no means was it exhaustive, it was just what I remembered that particular night). I recall we even discussed some of these to a small extent.

WW seems to have missed that point and so the answer to your initial question is probably yes as the post was written. Taken in the round the answer has to be no..
