I signed up to www.sparkpeople.com today and have started tracking my eating and exercise on there. I too can not afford the membership fees of SW and WW and also my work hours do not fit around the times of the local meetings but this website is great and totally free. It is an American site but has a large UK base of members and even has forum groups that follow SW and WW.
Other than knowing how large my portions are i can just pick the foods ive eated and the calory details are input automatically from their massive database and i get fairly reliable results..i sat there in wonder testing it! It really does knock both the slimming world and the weightwatchers websites straight out the water and no i'm not getting paid to say this!

Nessynoo - thanks for the tip....
Was at my Tersco bright and early - result:
SlimFast does not do latte flavour in powder form and ready made are too expensive so got Tesco own instead (£3.98 a box, 12 meals from that, same as Slimfast).
So.... got anough for 3 meals per day for a month - 8 boxes x 12 meals = 96 "meals"
Total cost 6x£3 (Slimfast) + 2x£3.98 = £25.96 per MONTH
Beats CD and Lipotrim hands down......
Just add skimmed milk.....
Weight today 76.3kg - wish me luck

Erm are you sure about having 3 slim fasts a day??? Its not designed to be a total meal replacement plan. Unlike cambridge etc it wont get you into ketosis so you might struggle with the hunger. Ive done SF too (also used the tesco/asda versions) with success but done it with a meal and two shakes.
Best of luck anyway.
I have managed a workout dvd so far today and am planning on 1400 calories, had 204 so far...:)Debt £5000:eek:

Do you know anyone who used shakes to slim and has kept the weight off once they started eating food again? I don't." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

I tried slim fast powders once, eurgh. I loved the shakes from a can, but only in a glass, tasted horrible out the can! I would never do slimfast again or anything similar! I was starving all the time and had no energy, and that was when I was 17, so should have had loads of energy.

I actualy love the taste od chocolate slimfast...
Tried the tesco's own latte today - brilliant too.
So if all goes well but slimfast goes up to its normal price - will be buying tesco's own
Had one latte this morning and feel fine so far.
Also, the beauty of those is that you put 2 scoops into 250 milk so really instead of 3x250 you can easily have 6x 225 as it is easy to just use one scoop and make smaller/more frequent shakes. Tried that with CD and Li[potrim before but to divide sachets in half was a nightmare...
How is everyone else doing? And WHAT is everyone else doing?

Me
CD 2 years ago 3 stone; lost a further half a stone myself. I'm an emotional eater and v hormonal so it's something I'll always struggle with.
If needed I occasionally use exante/tesco bars but only 2 a day and evening meal, I try to be really strict during the week and throw caution to the wind at weekend.
The past 2 weeks I've put 6 lb on but that's only 1 lb over my initial CD loss, I know in the next 2 weeks it'll be gone. Am also single and my tea tends to be the kids leftovers - they are teenagers now so not much there then. I'm not a big foodie, more of an emotional void am filling.0 -

I've just stocked up too. 9 tins of choc flavour from Superdrug, and 1 vanilla from Tesco. I've also done a big shop of low carb foods.
I have the 30 day shed DVD to do, and I got TOWIE fitness DVD for Xmas. No excuses now!!!
Good luck everyone."It's official, MSE's harbouring total fruitcakes">^..^<0 -
Personally, i'm just watching my portion sizes and cutting out the biscuits cakes and chocolates and sweets that i have a tendancy to binge on. I'm not following any ridgid SW or WW style plan for that matter and i have no intention of ever doing any kinda meal replacement diet they are quick fixes with massive fails in the longterm from what i have seen but if it works for you good luck to you.
Id rather retrain my brain into wanting to eat healthy nutritious meals on a budget. But what i am doing is effectively tracking what i am eating and exercising with the help of the sparkpeople website so i can see if i am eating the right number of calories (between 1500 and 2000 a day) and if i am eating the right balance of foods to be healthy. I may not get massive weight losses each week but i hope to do less damage to my body in the long term.HSBC [STRIKE]£3223.20[/STRIKE] £2060.00Cap1 [STRIKE]£1724.91[/STRIKE] £1782.00OD [STRIKE]£939.78[/STRIKE] £200.00No 49 of £2012 in 2012.. £645.10 so far & Crazy Clothes £14.09/£100.00 ReducingtheToiletryStash2012 UU12/IN 20 March Grocery 0.00/£65.00 & LbsNot£s Lost 14Lbs0 -
Oh so everyone is doing SOMETHING - that is great....
I will eat with Slimfast, just not sure what yet and today only went to Tesco for the shakes as it was last day on offer. Had 2 shakes and 2 satsumas as "treats" so far, got one more shake for today as when I eat nothing more - will be havng 2 shakes.
Will pop in to the shops tomorrow to get something for a light meal too, no worries.
You should have seen me on a bus today - 8 tinns of shakes, 12 tinns of cat food, 2x4pts skimmed milk.... a mop bucket and a mop (needed new ones).....was quite a picture......0
