Well, as it is STILL 2011 - I have a packed of pork ribs in the oven, salad (leeks, swwetcorm, eggs, mayo) and rice - ready in a bit.

Then, God help me what I am gonna have before midnight as going out....... sigh.....

I am STILL not 100% what to do diet wise, CD and Lipotrin are tempting but....

    Done Dukan before too....

I mean done all diets under the sun, lost weight on every single one of them but... sigh....

OK - so we have 1st January 2012.

My weight as of this morning (just got up so it IT morning for me LOL) 76.3 kg :eek::eek:

Ideal weight for me at my height (152 cm) is anything under 60kg.

So let's say 60kg to be a target weight at the moment.....

    16.3kg to drop........

Putting my pedometer on and taking the mutt into the woods today....
finally feeling up to a nice walk so let me check those "steps" for a week...
and then calculate average and increase a bit.

How is everyone else feeling this "morning"?

    Hi,
Would like to join in - lost about 3 stone from July - Oct last year but then got a bit lazy and have had a few pounds creep back on so need to get motivated again. Am not single but tend to eat separately from OH so usually cooking for one anyway. I'm also veggie so most meals are veggie or quorn based. I don't really do meal replacements or anything - have tried them in the past and find the weight piles back on as soon as I stop. Last time I was just eating less and more healthily and doing more exercise - and am quite surprised to see then even when slacked off haven't put it all back on again - so will just be trying that again. I also found the 30 day shred was great, if knackering, so am going to start that again.
    Good luck everyone :)

I got the year off to a great start by slobbing around, dozing on the sofa, eating loads and the dogs have only had 2 walks - the shame of it! This is clearly not how I plan for 2012 to go but surely the 1st Jan doesn't count??

I'm not counting today either. New Years Day is a day for yummy dinner, drinks and an evening of picking at crappy food with a DVD :p

I'm going to start on Weds when everyone is back to work and I can get back in to my usual routine rather than the messed up xmas/new year one:D

New Years day doesn't count, it's hangover day. Although I did get a lot of exercise the first few hours of new year dancing around in and a club snogging a guy!! But then I was drinking...

My diet starts on 5th January. But I may join gym before that. Today has been vegging on the sofa...
  • Just sneaking in here as have been trawling threads to decide which way to lose weight this year.

I too lost 5 stone quickly with lighterlife, and put it all back on, but also signed up as a counsellor, and lost 20000 monetary pounds by their unethics(another story).

The directors were mostly obese (very) back then, (2002) so should have known better.

Anyway, gettingready, I know you are leaning towards slimming world, but if you are looking at a low cost vlcd, have you seen slimandsave.co.uk. They sell the products cheaply, and you can buy just one flavour.

Hello.....I recognise few familiar faces ( names ) in this section, can I join in???
Ladies.....VLCD do not work. fact. All you are doing is training your bodies to store fat more efficiently when you start eating normally again.
There is a great GP led scheme which is very MSE.....your GP can refer you for free membership of WW and local authority gyms. I think you get 3 months free then reduced fees after that. Not all GPs are aware of this scheme but you can check with your primary care trust.
GR...walking more is all well and good, but your body is already very used to walking so needs something different to challenge it again....see what classes are on offer at the gym ( if you get the free membership)
My tips? Cut out alcohol for 3 months, yes 3 MONTHS and eat regular plain simple home cooked meals for breakfast lunch and dinner, cutting out mot of the simple starches. Don't expect anything dramatic like 2kg weight loss a week, it will be slow and steady but it WILL come off. I lost 2 stone over last year, a few pounds have crept back on over December as I drank too much and ate too much chocolate. My plan to lose 6-8 pounds over the next 3 months.

Oh I do nto count today either - got that choccy cake to fisnih TODAY you see, from yesterday.. sigh.....

    Paddypaws ;)

Thanks but - I do not drink... at all, so nothing to "cut down" here I am afraid...

Chocolate.... yup - a nightmare for me, tottaly addicted.

GP - will check, no way I can afford the gym plus with my blood pressure can not attend the gym as such anyway...

I will try Lipotrim or CD for a month or so, work something out later after that...

YOu are absolutely right, I am so used to walking that my body is too used to it and does not consider it as fat burning exercise... :(

Samsaragirls - thanks for the link.

Just looking at the site, there is something wrong with their maths LOL

When I chose 28 shakes from their "7 Days Female/Male VLCD 28 Items"

the price comes up as 38.99

But - selecting 28 shakes at 1.19 per shake is £33.32.......

    Big diference ;)

EDIT - ah, I see, clever marketing, different prices depending on how many you buy sigh.....

So 21 shakes per week (3 per day) come up to £29.99 - now that IS £8 cheaper than Lipotrim.....
