You wouldn't dare in the one in Florida, it was the sort of place where they keep guns under the counter for trouble causers who can't handle salt.
http://www.mcfun.com/restaurants/view/7 it was this one. It looks nothing like that when you get there.
You just reminded me of the one in orlando on the disney site. it used to be a giant happy meal box and I loved it (it got me into the disney spirit) now they've redesigned it to look like a bland, modern restaurant.
One reason for Mc Ds consistency is that there isnt the scope for things to go as wrong as they do with other companies about which people here complain.
Is there delivery? No.
Problems with stock availability? No, because their menu is relatively small and fixed.
Super high value items which go wrong? No.
the markup on the food is high enough that if you do complain, you usually get a freebie, no questions asked.
You're in and our and if the food wasn't great, it's cheap enough that most people just move on. There isn't the expectation of excellence.
If you compare it to somewhere like Waitrose, Comet, John Lewis or similar, you're looking at thousands of products people may be wishing to buy and travelling for. They may be big purchases that people will be living with, and people rightly or wrongly have an inflated expectation on what should be done if the companies fail to provide said item, or what the remedy should be if something goes wrong.
With mcdonalds, nobody except health nazis cares much if mcdonalds wasn't great, because great wasn't expected in the first place.0 -
Recently watched "Super Size Me" again, which reminded me why I don't eat at McDonalds.0

We watch that as part of the Science Obesity teaching in school. Every time without fail, after watching that I have to go and buy McD's. I only eat there once a year and it's always after watching that.i before e, except when you run a feisty heist on a weird beige foreign neighbour0 -

I recently switched to ICT instead of Science to help keep the weight down. I need never watch it again.i before e, except when you run a feisty heist on a weird beige foreign neighbour0 -
I like the fact that McDonald's offers me somewhere warm to sit at 06:00 when I'm waiting on a connecting bus to work in the morning and all I need to do is pay for a reasonably priced coffee and hash brown!0

I agree entirely with the sentiment about McDonalds being consistent, I've had both a mcdonalds and a rather more expensive meal out this week, McDonals delivered exactly what I expected, and the restaurant despite costing nearly 10x as much left me dissapointed. They never seem to be able to count chicken nuggets at mcdonalds though, once I ordered 20 and got 17, this week I ordered 9 and got 8...0

They should be consistent and bring back root beer.0

My husband and I have a McDonalds wherever we go on holiday, just for a little fun and comparison. I have to say the McArab in Agadir was awful, but the Big Mac in Moscow was yummy. Atlanta was great, Paris and Amsterdam were standard fare, One of the worst was a Big Mac in Cancun, Mexico (gag) but nothing compares to the awfulness of the McDonalds down the road from me (Dagenham). I don't understand how they consistently get it so wrong. Have banned family from going there now, we drive 3 miles to a different one.0

I worked in Mcd's from 1990-1992 (through A Levels!) it paid way above what I earned in a restaurant at around the same time; and it taught me soooo much that I still apply in my everday work and home life now!:D (Clean-As-You-Go anyone?!)
I learned about stock rotation, food hygiene, scheduling for staff, cashier skills etc etc!! All of which have stood me in excellent stead in other jobs and with running a home over the years....never did I think (and until reading this i didn't realise really) I would get so many valuable life skills from my Mcjob!! I'm still a whizz at cleaning stainless steel now, and I can arrange a rota for 20 staff with varying hours no problem!
And even better is that 20 years down the line, some of my mcmates are still the people from my home town that I keep in touch with!
I'm loving it!!:rotfl::beer:0
