McDonalds, gotta be the most consistently good company about these days?

It's a franchise - so it's hard to say the are consistently good. I have four of them within easy reach, three owned by the same franchise holder but you could not get two more polar experiences.
The nearest It's staffed mostly by British teenagers and it is utterly awful. Sure, it's clean and all but the food is often cold/burnt (quite a feat for an automated process). The drivethru is either 'can you park up' or something turns out to be missing from your order when you get down the road. It's consistently bad I'd say.
The second closest is staffed mostly by Polish / European migrant workers and it runs like total clockwork. Everything is spot on and although its a few miles more to go, it just saves so much hassle.
I used to be really impressed with the staff at the MD's at Chessington World of Adventures. Hard working, fast and very clean given what they were up against. The cost was uniform (no price jacking because of where it was) and it helped make a great day out. Sad to see it go.
My fondest memory was a MD's in NYC. Really upmarket, it had a doorman in top hat/tails, a guy playing a grand piano and a gift shop but, they still managed to burn the food!
It's mostly a good experience apart from the empty calories but if the McRib came back I'd probably put on 10 stone in a month!0 -
McRib Hmmmmmmmmm *slavers*0

I have to really want a mcdonalds nowadays but when I live in Reading I ate them all the time while using the internet cafe, I never put weight on until I stopped eating Mcdonalds.
I find I get stomach cramps after a Mcdonalds now. The staff in my nearest are OK there are a few lazy teens who stand round chatting to their mates but also a woman who has worked there since I was a baby! She remembers a lot of her customers when their were kids who now have their own kids.....I guess that makes it a little special.0 -
I hardly ever have a McDonalds. Maybe a few times per year, but I have to say, I think they are absolutely delicious! I could eat them Quarter Pounders with cheese all day long, lol. Burgers from various fancy restaurants over the years dont even compare in the taste department as far as im concerned. Love it. Only a rare treat, though0

The worst McDonalds we've ever been in is the one which is supposed to be the biggest in the world in Florida ! It was scary ! The food was awful and the staff really rude.0

If you ever find a 'rude' McDonalds and the staff hack you off, give it ten minutes then go back and order fries with no salt. In most of their facilities it's a nightmare for them - trust me.0

i had a belting McD's in salford last week (the restaurant next to their HQ)
the fries were red hot, the chicken legend was spot on and the coffee was excellent (as it always is). with it being a large, i got a cheeseburger free aswell, which had to be brought over because they weren't ready yet. again, red hot.
the best thing anyone will every say to you in a fast-food establishment (other than it's on the house') is 'it'll be a few minutes'.
as an aside, their coffee is really good. i preferred it last year when it was kenco, but i've got used to the taste of the new coffee. i had about 150 of the coffee vouchers from ebay which i used near enough every day going into uni.helpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -

Going to try it with a big mac, see if the same happens.
The food is ok, not fantastic, but adequate whilst out, theirblack coffee is lovely, just the right strength for me.
When assessing food I think you do need to consider price... and for the price I think the quality is excellent.
You could (if you want cheese that is) ask for a 1/4lb without cheese then when you get it ask them to put cheese on itI have to really want a mcdonalds nowadays but when I live in Reading I ate them all the time while using the internet cafe, I never put weight on until I stopped eating Mcdonalds.
On that note I actually used to work at McDonalds (i'm talking a good 6ish years ago now), we used to get a free medium meal each shift -- for the time I was there I never put on any weight eating 6 meals per week ---- I then went to work at Starbucks for a while and put on several stone quite quickly :eek:0 -

You wouldn't dare in the one in Florida, it was the sort of place where they keep guns under the counter for trouble causers who can't handle salt.
http://www.mcfun.com/restaurants/view/7 it was this one. It looks nothing like that when you get there.0 -
The only way you get me into a 'McDonalds', Is at gun point0
