"....Another hysterical repsonse, charming.
You can ignore the scientific consensus if you want, and if you belive in karma/fate then clearly you dont have a scientific bone in your body.
Incidentally, being a diabetes link nurse you probably should know better. Please stick to what you do best i.e. being a glorified cleaner, leave the intellectual debate to the doctors and scientists" Quote Riffs
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Definately sounding hypoglycaemic, go get a life, not even going to rise to it, glorified cleaner? Well this is a glorified cleaner amongst many who actually care about other people, unlike yourself. Hmmmm, I wonder if youve saved a life before? If so, YOU should know better, what a closed, small mind you have :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: your insults are wasted on me Im afraid,....Good luck for the future Riffs, you're going to need it xxThis above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man. yeah it maybe but this person has no concept of what its like to live with a condition such as Diabetes itself. He thinks that its your own fault to get it. I said it in hast but i was just trying to get my point across and obvisouly in the wrong way.
i just cant believe that someone can be that ignorant and then to slag off nowaskintmum for being a renal nurse!
Sorry! But that was just my way of getting my point across.:heartpuls I love this place! :heartpuls

Riffs probably thinks too that everyone with lung disease was/is a smoker and deserves it. Am just ignoring this narrow minded person now though.
Elliebell, karma will come back and bite his bum eventually, i wouldnt wish illness on anybody but i know what you mean, i wish someone else had my disability instead, especially a smoker cos i dont smoke (why me?). Its a living hell for sure.
Maybe riffs should go into a renal ward and meet some people who go for treatment or work there. Especially before judging anymore people.0 -

we are all responsible to our own health, we cannot live an abusive lifestyle and expect other taxpayers to foot the bill when things go wrong.
Remember that if you have a heart attack due to eating unhealthy food, or break your leg by not being careful. By your reconning anyone who breaks anything by playing sports or not being careful shouldn't get treated free, anyone who eats unhealthy shouldn't get treated free or has any other accident which was a result of their actions! Hi ... am hesitantly hopping in as a newbie reading the post with OH with diabetes (type 2). On the original question I'd like to say Diabetes Uk are a good resource, not many freebies, but very handy, and their Balance magazine which comes if you are a member is also useful. I did find some freebie chocolate samples in one of the chemists years back but it was so stuffed with polyols my OH had to stay close to home and loo for days !
Back in the haze of all this chat, there was a post from Sue about freebie diet advice site, thanks for that, will check it out
It's not free but OH got a travel kit for his needles / pills / testing kit from a company called Desang. Their ad is in Balance mag (am sure you can google em though), he says it is the most handy kit bag he's had in all his years with diabetes. Hope that's handy is some way. x£3k back from Natwest:beer:, approx 29% saved on major debts due to Martin's tarting advice and LOTS more (inc weight loss too! ... Martin's a Marvel:j Long healthy good life, great times, and happiness :rotfl: x0 -

Their are too many people who (not just regarding this topic but many issues in general) who are too unable/unwilling/blinded by arrogance to do any research for themselves and just throw out emotive verbal diarrhoea. The scientists even do all the hard bit.
The world is your mollusc go look stuff up

no need to be so hostile.
i think most people understand the difference between 'abusive lifestyle' and 'accidence'. no need to explain.
in an ideal world, i wish all patients have full access to medicine/treatment, just like all children have full access to education. in a civil society, we do care enough to share our resources. however, it goes both ways, we take care of others, but we also take care of ourselves and follow doctor's instruction and advice, regardless of your weight.
so stay peace and stay safe, lets stop arguing and lets try to find more freebies related to this thread and help more people.
