we are all responsible to our own health, we cannot live an abusive lifestyle and expect other taxpayers to foot the bill when things go wrong.
Strange how out of 10 Type 2 diabetics I can think of, off the top of my head, 9 are within healthy weight range to possibly below, only one is over weight. So my statistics are only a possible 10% due to obesity, but more likely hereditary! None were over 40, so don't think aging is a factor in them.
Also at our diabetic clinic in hopital, I the majority are no where near obese...0 -

Saying that diabetes isnt an illness is just stupid semantics and it depends on ur definition of an illness. to most people diabetes IS an illness, so get off ur high horse Elliebell0 -

All those famous people get freebies from designer and beauty houses all the time so joe public will see them and buy them, wont it be nicer to (for instance) give people with cancer a nice freebie to cheer them up? Would look better too, than freebies going to mega-rich celebrities.
A family member with Breast Cancer had a great afternoon being shown tips for make-up and looking after yourself whilst having Chemo etc.
A couple of 'experts' took the session and there was a bag of goodies for every participant.
Frankly it was the best bag of freebies I've ever seen (and rightly so!). It contained a stack of expensive make-up, creams, designer perfumes etc. These were all full decent sized bottles not little sample ones.
The total value was easily in excess of £500.
This was arranged through a 'Maggies' centre but I'm sure its available throughout the country.
The project is called 'Look Good ... Feel Better'.
Here are a few links which explain it all ...

A bit off topic from the OP but hope it helps someone.0 -

YOU OBVIOUSLY ARE AS THICK AS SH*T IF YOU THINK THIS. I CAN NOT BELIEVE ANYONE CAN SAY THIS WHEN IT CAN BE HEREDITORY LIKE MINE IS, NOTHING TO DO WITH WEIGHT, DIET OR LIFESTYLE.Tamiya Widow0 -

IF YOU ONLY HAVE NEGATIVE THINGS TO SAY ON ALL YOUR POSTS YOU MUST BE A VERY SAD PERSON. WHY NOT GO AN GET YOURSELF A LIFE INSTEAD OF POSTING ALL THE CR*P YOU DO ON HERE. THIS SITE IS FOR PEOPLE INFORMING OTHERS OF POTENTIAL FREEBIES NOT FOR JERKS LIKE YOU TO SLATE EVERYONE'S GOOD INTENTIONS.
I FEEL SO SORRY FOR THE OP WITH ALL THE BACKLASH THEY HAVE RECIEVED FROM AN HONEST QUESTION.Tamiya Widow0 -

Come on peeps. Rise above it and keep focused on the OP.
Might be worth contacting some of the diabetic websites that sell chocolate and cakes and asking if they would send a free small sample...worth a try.
