I was hoping the id could be avoided, I have other accounts (but no CA) with Halifax

You may already be fully verified, but not all existing customers are

seeing as you may need to visit the branch to pay the £100 in, it may be easier to do the switching forms there and then and check id
  • Thanks Moonbeam - it was all a bit confusing, but is sorted now.

  • Under the terms of the switching offer, you have until 30th April to submit your transfer details.

    There's no (immediate) rush!

they won't work on the transfer until you supply these details. You will only get the £100 after the transfer and 2 consecutive months of the £1000 credit , so sooner the better

It has also been confirmed that the £100 can be withdrawn at any time, depending on the "pot", so sooner the better too

Never had a problem when opening savers etc online with halifax so I think I may be. I guess as I have the online service I will be able to do the £100 online from a savings account.

The £1k has to come from outside (?) so websaver >> other CA >> New Halifax CA it is then
  • you should be able to lipidman - you won;t be able to add the new account roll number to your internet banking until the next day as it is an overnight update

This has probably been covered loads of times already but I just want to confirm that the £1000 goes into the account, and can be withdrawn the next day? I need it in my main bank account to pay my main DDs! But then I have 0% overdraft with A&L for quite a while yet! :-)
  • you must transfer the dd's to the account phil to get the £100

and yes the £1000 can come out

    Can I just confirm:
You DON'T need to pay your salary i this account to qualify for the £100?????

If this is so, what do you put on the switching form ask it asks for employer details?

As you might have guessed, just want to switch over some minimal SO from a dormant CitiBank account and grab the cash
  • no but to get the £100 you must pay in £1000 a month - this does not have to be salary
