Halifax Offering £100 To Switch To Them

Hi, I've applied and opened an account last week. I requested to use the switching service to transfer my salary etc, but called earlier to request that one SO is left as I don't want it moved. I'm sure it's ok to do this as but just wanted to check if anyone knew for definite?0

if you both sign the transfer form then the aats team may make an exception, but the names usually match the new account0 -

"thank you for your recent request to transfer your banking arrangements to Halifax Bank of Scotland. We are unable to start the transfer at the present time as your Bank of Scotland account is not fully open. You need to credit the account with an overnight balance of £100 to ensure it is fully open."
It then goes on to say I have to do that within 14 days and call them when I've done it otherwise they'll assume I no longer wish to transfer account.
Didn't expect this - anyone else had the same. I don't even have an a/c number & sort code so how can I credit the a/c with £100?
Halifax Bank of Scotland use Roll numbers beginning with D/ - this would appear on the letter asking for the funds to activate the account and order card
you can do the transfer forms in the branch at the same time after crediting the £100 which has to stay in the account over night to order card - can be withdrawn next day0 -

HBOS will contact your existing bank for a list of all your DDs and SOs - HBOS will then send the details to you, for you to check
You can't pick and choose really0 -

Yeah, I have the same problem. Its an SO for a regular saver that I am too nervous to have them move. Miss a payment and......well!0 -
When is the next regular saver standing order due?
set it up yourself on the Halifax account. Because there is an interest free overdraft for 120 days you can do this. Then when Halifax contract existing bank for list of dd's and standing orders, that one will not be present
just an idea?0 -
Applied online for the High Interest Account last Thursday and requested email confirmation. Not heard anything yet? Is this normal? Are they snowed under with people leaving A&L??? How long should I leave it before calling them?
thanks

Yes DIY. I moved my own important STOs so I know the job is done properly as I didn't want them to mess up and just put in 2 new ones for £10 each, so they have got something to move.0 -
Its a problem because I need to have £500 a month going through the A&L account. I can move the in and out payments, but you see the problem. Cant fund the reg saver any other way and still have £500 a month paid in0

I've applied! After 5 years with Smile I'm finally changing my current account! I'm opted for the high interest account which suits me as I rarely have more than 2.5k in my c.account at any one time and never go overdrwn. I'll keep my smile just in case I don't get on with the Halifax current account (I have their RS and Direct ISA which I'm fairly happy with at the mo).
How do others find the the Halifax current account to manage? Does the debit card allow free withdrawals at all Visa cash withdrawel machines? I mainly use the machine at tescos or sainsburys (or get cash back inside).
Well, that'll be another £100 for free! I did the barclays offer last year but closed that account almost straight away. :j£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190
