You can not switch a joint account to a sole account

They can switch a sole to sole

    a sole to joint

    and a joint to joint

    but not joint to sole

What if i wanted to switch 2 sole accounts to 1 joint. Would I only be entitled to £100 or £200?
  • They will stiill credit score you

yes they will look at how long you have been a customer, and how much in savings - but they will see the ccj and unless you have any other credit to assess it could be catch 22

how do you use the savings accs? as a bank acc?

You can do 2 swtichers the way you say

But I would think you would only receive one lot of the £100

EDIT - found it, condition 6

"6. Payment applies to first account opened only, whether sole or joint. Joint account qualifies for one payment only."

  • As you don't use it then you are not an active customer. They do look at that, but not as important as credit score check

They have referred it on so I will take that as a big fat NO! Apparently they couldnt access my credit file but he said there systems have been playing up all day, pfft nice way of putting we dont want your money! Guess it is Citibank or nothing then!

  • That means the account has been referred to the underwriters. It wasn't a decline , but the undewriter may be able to see the ccj

The person keying the account can not see credit file at all

As I stated they do a basic account too
  • Hi
I'm considering moving accounts but was wondering

1 Would it negatively affect CCard type applications etc that ask how long you've been with your bank (20 yrs + now)

2 Would this be a fantastic interest rate for 6 months or so, then be pants and we'd have to move accounts again?
