    Hi

If my hubbie and I have a joint account can I open a single halifax account, use the switching team but not switch all the d/d etc if they don't relate to me? ie maybe just switch 10 d/d ors/o that are mine and mine alone?

You can not switch a joint account to a sole account

They can switch a sole to sole

    a sole to joint

    and a joint to joint

    but not joint to sole

I opened a RBS current a/c last year to get their free £100. I used their a/c switching system as required to move my salary from my other current a/c. It was a joint a/c & the a/c I opened with them was a sole a/c. There was no prob with that.

I don't know what aats is - I am guessing "automated a/c transfer syetem??" Why would it be different with this one? I'm not asking to split hairs, I was going to do exactly that this time only for my husband (from joint to sole) so be a shame if their was problem with that.

salary is different as they are contacting your employer, rather than your bank

they can't do joint to sole, with changing dd's ect

so if you just want them to transfer your credits, its fine, but the £100 offer is for switching dd's

I have been trying to arrange a new account. I popped into a branch and ended up with an appointment. Fair enough, saves me the hassle of form filling. Anyhow, all is well except I had a missed call from the woman I was to meet. I attempted to call back - here the problem starts. There is absolutely no way I can find to get the telephone number for the branch! I rang customer services/call centre/etc. but they just refuse to provide a number. I am tempted not to turn up for my appointment now.
    2 + 2 = 4
except for the general public when it can mean whatever they want it to.
  • They don't have direct lines. (Although some arears have started it)The call centre can put through or they can look at ther booking systems

All banking advisers pre-qualify appointments before hand (well they should do). What did you need to phone back for?

Some people don't turn up, quite rude, as someone else could have had the appointment, but it happens

That is a pain - not having branch numbers, but having said that, our Halifax Mortgage advisor was more than happy to give out his works mobile number so I'm sure other staff will do too :)
  • All mortgage advisers have their own mobile number

Some branch staff give out their telephone numbers, once seen a customer

The are rolling our branch telephony this year anyhow

Have been turned down by lloyds and natwest due to discrepencies at my address apaerntly and been told to get an experian report, I have done this and I have a CCJ that I never knew about. As a customer with Halifax would this count against me? surely they would want to take the rest of my banking business???
