Couple of questions if you'd be so kind, guys and gals...
1) can I do this with both my account and my wife's account? or is it limited to one per address?
2) does the 6.1% apply, regardless of the balance of the account (obviously assuming it's not overdrawn!)
Thanks.0 -
2 dense questions here
- If I paid in 500 quid could I then take that back out, put it back in somewhen during the month and have that count as my 1000 for the month?
- Define a month. Can't see it in the small print but if I opened it today (7 Feb) is a month a certain number of days or by 7th of next month or whatever?Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory0 -
Moonbeam,
Do you happen to work for either Halifax of BOS? I have just applied for the Halifax account for £100, but you seem to be definitely saying that you can't have both HAlifax/BOS. Would I be definitely wasting my time? I do have another "free" current account I could use for the purpose.0 -
david69 wrote:My partner wants to open an account with halifax but she would rather go into the branch rather than do it online will she still get the £100,and what if you dont have any standing orders or d-debits to transfer will you still be able to claim?
It is a condition that you use their switching team, you'll not get £100 for JUST opening an a/c !0 -
Hi
If my hubbie and I have a joint account can I open a single halifax account, use the switching team but not switch all the d/d etc if they don't relate to me? ie maybe just switch 10 d/d ors/o that are mine and mine alone?0 -
I'm thinking of signing up for this offer but I would like to keep my salary going into my A&L account and then transfer 1000 out each month - is this possible?
On the website it says:
2. Switch your Direct Debits, standing orders and automated credits (like your salary) to your new account
Does this mean that they will automatically transfer my salary from A&L to Halifax?

I've gone for this,
They said they give you a FEE £1000 overdraft for the first 3 months to make sure all DD and standing orders are paid.
Just 1 of my standing orders is £10000 -
Hy husband is with Royal Bank Of Scotland and wants a new bank account.
Can he apply for a current account with Halifax and transfer everything, then get the £100?
He earns over £1000 a month.

Yes - Royal Bank of Scotland is a different bank (they own NatWest), Halifax is part of HBOS (Halifax Bank of Scotland) group.
