Ok so I have at least 9 coming for Xmas dinner, and possibly 13, I could make a huge profit at £30 per head :T:D
Seriously though, my god what a tight madam she is, everyone comes to my house, but they all bring something, mum will bring the turkey, (and lots of other bits knowing her) sis brings the tea things, cheese crackers nibbles etc, I provide the veg, spuds stuffing etc, and the puds, everyone brings wine or beer, and we have a fab day, I would NEVER ask for someone to pay thats disgusting :mad:0 -
I am actually laughing. Why oh why oh why.

definitelyJust curious, but does this person have money?
OH and I were talking about things like this the other day and every single person we knew who were reasonably well off, were a little bit tight or mean.
All the poor folk we know would give you their last.
i've bought a £2.99 jar of quality street for a rich friend that insisted we all spend on eachother then spent that on me and my mate last year, she bought us the same present.

My DD told me on Sunday that her dad, my ex, wants to take her, DGS 7 & DGD 4 to the pantomime, he told he to ask me if I'd look after her 10 month old while they go as his current wife doesn't 'do' babies.
I replied that I was happy to babysit, but since the ex had suggested it I wanted £7.50 an hour. I was joking obviously.

That's disgusting! I wouldn't charge to make family Christmas dinner or visit someone who did! People bringing some food or a bottle is different but £30?! They should just be grateful they still have people who want to spend Christmas with them!0

Blimey!!
If I charged £30 a head I think we'd have empty seats and a lot of food!!
I invite and feed my family on xmas day because they;re my family, I love them and I want to spend xmas day with them!!
They travel to get to our house, buy gifts for me and the kids and we feed and accommodate them (and buy them presents too!)
That is the spirit of xmas!!
Xmas eve we all go out for a curry, and all pay for our own meals - everything eaten or drunk in our house is our gift to you at xmas...The newest Mrs Lindley...... I married my Welsh Soulmate on 11-11-11 xxx0 -
In our family we take it in turns to host Christmas/Boxing day and the cost is split between the three couples. It usually works out around £25-£30 per couple 'all in'. We are all happy with this arrangement & I never considered it might be a bit weird until now. Not quite the same a charging people though.0
