  • Morning,

Visit from mum is going very well, she has done her usual and really spoilt us..she's even given us some money so we can go out for dinner tonight

I'm still keeping a close eye on the bank account and DH has had notification that his expenses are on the way, they should be in the bank today but aren't so I expect they'll be there on Monday.

DH and I have the dentist today :( so money to be paid out there, although on the upside, my mum is taking the kids to the local soft play centre for a few hours whilst we're out...we get the pain and they get the fun...something badly wrong there :rotfl:
  • Second time, I've posted and second time it's been lost in the ethernet!

Basically, mum's visit is going well and as usual we've been spoilt :)

Dentist visit today for DH and I whilst the kids get to go to the soft play centre so money to be paid out there.

DH's expenses are in hand and should be paid in on Monday, all going well that is!

Mum has given us some money so we can go out to dinner tonight :)

Apart from that nothing much else to report, keeping a close eye on the bank account and updating my spread sheet as I go along. So far so good.

Have a good weekend everyone, glad it's half term now though. xx
  • Hope the dentist goes okay :)

Our half term is finished here! I'm so glad, it means I can take the kids to softplay/park without being rushed my rowdy teenagers :o
  • Morning,

My lovely wonderful mum has gone home :( she should be on the motorway by now. She really spoils us and takes some of the pressure of the kids off us too...soo going to miss her! But she's back at Christmas for a visit :) first time in years.

Any how, she kindly bought some much needed curtains for the lounge/dining room, they're triple lined so they'll keep the heat in, especially where the conservatory doors are and she bought some new nets for us so the windows at the front of the house match now lol

It's half term here and DH is on holiday from Weds to Fri, so a busy week ahead of me. Done all my errands that I needed to run this morning, just a few things left to get done...see my list below :rotfl:

Will only get one NSD this week the way things are looking but we'll see. I've signed up for the November one and have pledged 10 but am aiming for more than that!

DH's expenses have arrived in the bank, so that'll keep us going for a while; spreadsheet has been updated and I will keep a close eye on it.

Todays little list of chores looks like this <<<drum roll>>>

    Change kids beds
    Washing
    Washing up
Cake making with the kids...messy fun!

Change has duly gone in the respected pots, I noticed from my receipt in Tesco's that the points have gone that I built up during the year, so I expect to get some vouchers through the post soon.

Hoping to hear more about the job this week, it'll be good if they invite me for a second interview but not building up my hopes in case they want some one else.

I've got the dentist again on Friday morning, hopefully the last time for a while.

Well we're part way through the half term and I'm panicking about running out of money before DH gets paid! Not good! Need to pull myself together! It feels like I'm loosing my way again and I really need to stop it :(

We've got the next chunk of DD's coming out which will leave us with not much left. Out of the money that remains, DH will need petrol money, travel and parking as well as doing family things over the next few days and top up shops.

So I am going to have to be super organised if we are to get through intact.

I've pledged 10 NSD's in November which as DH gets paid on the 15th of the month, I need to have as many as possible up to then.

Walking will commence with the kids again next week, that'll save on petrol in my car, don't get me wrong I love walking to school and back with the kids but hate it when it's cold and heck it's getting so cold now!

I'm cleaning again next week so that'll help money wise, I need to make it last though.

    Anyway, on to today.

    [STRIKE]Housework[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Washing
    Washing up[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Tesco's for top up shop and Halloween bits[/STRIKE]
    Dinner
    [STRIKE]Send birthday card off to DH's niece[/STRIKE]

Back later with an update xx
  • Darn I lost my post again...not doing too good with this am I!?!

I can't get organised today and I really need to, been thinking about the money situation, November/December and 2013. Told you I thought I was loosing it and I was right :o

I need/want to get my plan for 2013 sorted and posted so that I know what my goals are, I know I can't carry on without posting on here so I have to make that my priority besides it may help me keep focussed :D

I saw on someone's thread their Do One Thing A Day (DOTAD) and I like the concept, so I've nabbed it...sorry if it was yours but I need it lol. Mine is going to be adapted though to two things a day (DTTAD), I will do other stuff that needs doing not just everyday stuff. I'm getting far too lazy :o

I know I'm rambling, I can't help it, I need to get this written down lol

So between DH's November pay day (15th) and December pay day (15th) we have 3 birthdays to take in to account, we are also down at SiL's over night one weekend and I'm sure there are other bits too.

I hate it when my brain works overtime, I can't think straight!

    Back soon x

This is a good idea I might pinch it too :rotfl::rotfl:
  • I'm back...I promise that this won't be as boring as the last post. I've sort of sorted out my 2013 folder on the laptop and feel back to being organised.

I need to get a lot of different areas covered, not just money but on a personal level too; if I can sort the money side out the personal side should theoretically fall in to place.

At the beginning of the year I need to total up the credit card and devise a plan to get it paid off or reduced by half. Currently the credit card stands at nearly £4K and is likely to be more than that by the new year.

I want to achieve more than 10 NSD's a month and this should help with many areas of my life lol...practise starts over the next few months.

I plan to join in the £2 savers club again and will happily run it like last time if Observer has had enough lol. Will keep up with the change saving and use these towards various things throughout the year.

I still need to figure out eveything major that is to come out at this time of year and incorporate this in the the first half of the year's figures so that once this time of year comes around I'm not panciking like I have been lately...my car being the main one, it's not been serviced for two years :o

And keep up with my lists! They are my lifeline and keep me on track.

No doubt there will be more to be added to this but it's just a general list of goals to keep me going.

Moving on to November, I know DH's pay day falls part way through it but that shouldn't stop me from keeping things going financially. I've checked what change we have hanging about and we've £26 in £2 coins and £5 in 50p's that can be used if needed before the 15th.

So I've now wittered on again on my diary and yet again got nothing done in the house...DH will be home soon too.

I'm going now, I feel better for getting this written down and feel more focussed...could happily spend hours on here though :rotfl:

    Morning Happy Hump Day :)

DH is off work today and he got up with the kids this morning so I could have a lie in.

Have checked online banking and updated my spreadsheet.

November tomorrow! Can start my NSD's in earnest :D looking forward to getting as many as I can.

Have made a pledge to myself that I will avoid Tesco's unless its to buy needed stuff.

DTTAD - consists of sorting out the kids area in the dining room and changing our bed.

Have a good day everyone x
  • Morning. It's November and getting one step closer to Christmas  Can finally start on the NSD challenge for the month too.

I've sorted out the online banking and updated the spreadsheet, it's not looking too good despite the last lot of DD's coming out. Out of what's left we need a top up shop, dentist bill on Friday, DH's travel and petrol.

The good news is that I have a cheque for £100, this is a refund on the healthcare excess from DH's work, I said to DH that I wouldn't bank it until next payday as he'll be short on his expenses but I feel I may need to bank it but will hang on to it as much as possible.

I also have the £2 coins hanging about, so I will use them next week as well as my cleaning money.

I didn't get done what I wanted to yesterday, so aim to make this my priority today.

Fingers crossed that we'll come through unscathed. I need to make sure that we have some spare cash to pay for presents next month..I'm glad that we got the majority of them at the beginning of the year just kids, DH and mum's left.

Have a good day everyone x
