  • Morning,

Been busy for the past few days which has restricted me coming on here a bit.

Cleaning job was good and she's asked me to go back this week but on Thursday this time :) The £12 has been stashed away towards our holiday at Easter.

I have been keeping a close eye on the finances and have been religiously checking them daily, I think that if I can keep up with the NSD's this week we should be ok.

Food order has been placed and will be delivered the day after DH gets paid due to kids clubs.

We got the Council Tax bill and it has gone up by £3 a month.

Managed one NSD last week and need to achieve a few more this week.

Got some good feedback from the school's head regarding my application (I wasn't shortlisted) and now I know where I went wrong and what I can do to ensure I get a job.

Also...I have been booked in for my maths Level 2 exam in approximately two weeks...Need to revise lots but fairly confident that I will pass it.

Off to get motivated, have a good day everyone x
  • Morning,

I’m back! I hate it when life gets in the way. So catch up time.

We scraped through last month intact :) however I think this month will be slightly different as we are on holiday and it is also the Easter holidays but if we are careful we might make this month intact too.

Cleaning job is going fairly well so far and it’s nice to know I have the extra little bit coming in. Once the holiday is out of the way I am going to build it up and put towards the car taxes.

I did my Level 2 maths test on Monday and…..failed! Hey ho never mind. I think part of the problem was that my tutor had pushed me and pushed me to finish the course a month ahead of schedule, so I need to retake and as such I need to do more revision and more practise tests.

I have been reassessing my life, family/marriage wise I am happy but personal wise I’m not, I hate having to struggle. Okay DH earns more than most people and we do have a fairly good life but mistakes we have made means we are struggling when we could be debt-free and not worrying.

We/I need to change things before we end up in a worse state than we are now.

The NSD’s are going well so far this month and I am currently up to 5 but need some more.

Still job hunting but I’m happy that I have a job even if it doesn’t pay very much at the moment…I’m still doing the volunteer job at the school but am going to have to drop down to two days a week instead of doing three days as I need the study time and job hunting time and of course….housework!

Meal plan went out of the window last few weeks and I need to get that back up to speed again. I’ve made a start this week and will aim to carry it on the rest of the week.

So that’s where I am at the moment.
  • Wow!Has it really been that long since I wrote on this? Naughty girl! To be truthful, I have been on here but not writing. Too much was going on.

Things got really bad a while back and we ended up having to remortgage (again!) to pay off the debt, needless to say, it hasn’t helped as we are still using the credit card and we are back up to the limit on the OD.

SoI’ve finally plucked up the courage and thought I’d sneak back on here, in an effort to change things again :o

How do things stand personally? I’ve given up on the Teaching Assistant job idea, every job I applied for I was rejected which to be fair I was partly upset about but it also gave me the kick up the@rse I needed to realise that I need to go back full time doing what I used todo before the kids were born; it’s only been a few weeks but I’m applying for as many jobs as I can.

The cleaning job has finished and I’m cleaning for another lady but for a bit more money, this presently has been seeing me through the week, ideally I want to save it rather than use it.

I’m still working in the kitchen at the school, not ideal and to be honest I’m beginning to loath the job but I’m hanging on (for the time being).

DH gets paid tomorrow and we have the shopping being delivered tomorrow afternoon, I’ve been meal planning for the week which has helped.

I need to get motivated and sort out what my plan is for the week, I figured thatrather than try and accomplish everything in one month and failing, it might bebetter if I work through it week by week and have probably a bit more success.

    So,if you don’t mind…I’m back (again!)
  • Update time on this morning's post.

I've counted the demi-john and we've got £41 in there, not as much as I was expecting but still not overly bad I guess since I'm saving 10p's, 5p's, 2p's and 1p's in there. Will count it again at Christmas and if needed I'll use it, if not then I will roll it over to next year.

I've been a bit on the lazy side with the NSD's, that's been a problem with not writing my diary. I've not kept track so I've not bothered too much with them. So next week I pledge to have 4 minimum!!

I need to nip to Tesco's today to top up and have promised the kids a trip to the park. Going to be really good and not overspend.

I need to work out what's coming out and what we'll have left, that will have to wait until tomorrow once DH's money is in the bank. Extras to be paid are the Gas/electric, two birthdays, the remainder of DS's school trip and dentist's payments. My mum is also down for a visit in a couple of weeks so I need to factor that in to the finances too.

Okay, off to feed the kids, get them sorted to go out.
  • Yay your back :D Look forward to reading again :D x
  • Hi HI, yep back again.

Went to Tesco's with the kids and spent £28.01. Sorted until the shopping comes tomorrow, the kids misbehaved in Tesco's so lost the park; however they're going out in garden instead so I will still get some peace.

Whilst I was at Tesco's I bought one of those ready cooked chickens from the hot counter, this will do the kids for dinner and anything left will get frozen and used up later...I have to confess though I've had a nibble on a bit of the chicken too tempting to resist! lol

One thing I need to reduce is my time in Tesco's! I spend far too much time in there.

Quite looking forward to this month...money wise. Will see if we can scrape through intact for a change.

Good morning you lovely people and lurkers,

DH got paid today :D always a good thing in my book, I've checked the spreadsheet and so far so good.

I have £15 in my purse, which I need to try and make last this week.

    Today looks like this:

    Work - Done
    Shopping - Done
Phone call from prospective employer  - Still waiting
    Dye my hair - Done
    Update speadsheet - Done
    Homework with the kids- Done
    Meal plan for the month
    Housework

    Goals to achieve this week:

    Apply for more jobs
    4 NSD's
    Walk with the kids
    Avoid Tesco's unless needed

Have a good day everyone and I'll update later x
  • Been to work and volunteer job at the school (last day tomorrow). I'm still waiting a call from a prospective employer, he said he'd call today to go through the job role that I applied for, hopefully it won't be too long.

I failed on the NSD front today, when I came out of the school I had a banging headache, I figured it was because I hadn't eaten anything for ages so went to Tesco's I spent £2.82!! I got something to eat, drink and paracetamol...My £15 isn't going to last long if I keep that up. I was very tempted to go there before I came home but was a good girl and didn't.

I filled my car up with petrol and seeing as I'm not doing the volunteering after tomorrow, the petrol should theoretically last me a while longer.

I've still some chores to cross of my list before the end of today, so better get cracking. x

    Good morning world,

Looks very cold out there today! Better wrap up warm today I think.

Yesterday wasn't as bad as I first thought, ok it could have been better but still wasn't bad. Today has to be better!

I didn't get the phonecall I was hoping for, so I guess the bloke looked at my CV and decided that I'm not what they're looking for, but hey ho it's not going to stop me.

Have updated my spreadsheet, I'm determined to keep an eye on it. CB got paid yesterday and I'm waiting on DH's expenses as well as my wage to go in. I forgot I need to factor in Half Term too and that DH is off for three of the days.

I've done my meal plan for the week but still need to do it for next week and possibly the month. May need to go to the Old Style board for some inspiration.

Anyway enough rambling and on to today:

    Volunteer job - Done
    Work - Done
DS has football club after school - Done
Check online banking and update - Done
Sort cheque out for DS's school trip - Done
Sort kids books out to go to school
    Housework - Doing (sort of)
    Sort dinner out - Done

That should keep me going for a while. The kids books are the ones that they no longer read and the school I work at have said they'd like them for the Reception children.

First of all shower and get dressed. Have a good day and I'll update later. xx
  • So time for an update :)

Had a reasonably good day, was a bit peed off with work as the woman I work with was off sick again! So I was left on my own to serve the kids at the school...and to top it all the food was late being delivered so had to rush. Still I made it out alive lol.

Finished my volunteer job at the other school, I was a bit sad to go but I know I have to if I'm to sort my life out.

Cheque written and given to the school for DS's trip, that's finally paid off so I can relax a bit.

Dinner is ready, the kids had a bit for their dinner and the rest is ours...bolognese and fresh pasta with garlic bread, hope DH is hungry!

Lunches sorted for tomorrow, one load of washing dried and sorted, one load in the tunble dryer and the last load (for today) currently in the washer, washing up has been sorted too.

Oh and I achieved my first pledged NSD :) **hops about** just three more to get and then I've done for the week.

Did some walking back from school yesterday and will do so again tomorrow...can't walk there in the morning as I have my cleaning job.

I'm unsure of what to do with the money I get from cleaning, I get £18 a week and usually I tend to spend it but feel I should do something more with it? Need to think about that.

Right I'd better get the last bit done and my chores for today will be sorted..not including any other bits I find.

    Have a good evening x
