It would always be down to us to go and collect presents from them for Xmas/Birthdays.
The one year though, Mil left the presents in the porch, rang the doorbell and drove away! We were in, so she could have seen the kids. I sent her a text not long after, thanking her for the presents, but asking that she didn't do it again as it was very rude. After that I made sure I locked the porch so she couldn't leave anything in there and they would be in full view outside.
These days though she usually just sends a card in the post with £20 inside.
does she ever see them?:footie:0 -
does she ever see them?
Not for more than a year no.
We were always expected to take the kids round there. She would ring on the Friday and say "can I have the kids Saturday/Sunday", we could never make any plans ourselves. Also, racing the greyhounds was more important.
She would have plenty of opportunity to see them during School holidays, but she won't come up here to see them. They live half a mile away.
We got sick of jumping through hoops for her, so we stopped contact.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £24,616.090 -

He won't 'let' you?
So he won't stand up to his parents...but you won't stand up to him either?
