I am sooo tired. After my last post I went food shopping..typically I forgot something though! Came home and had lunch, assembled part of one shelf unit, sorted the casserole for dinner and washed up. Went to finish the first shelf unit, helpfully they don't say that specific shelf inbetween bits go on specific shelves  so had to take most of it apart and reassemble. It did mean I was a lot quicker on the second lot though. They are upside down now waiting for DH to tell me where to put the locking wheels...I don't want the responsibility of that decision :rotfl:

Anyway very tired now so trying to regain some energy then going to try and use the cardboard boxes from the shelf units to try and make a box to put mum's Christmas present in. If I have the time and energy after that I will run the vacuum around the upstairs rooms not yet touched and downstairs where the polystyrene separators have attacked the carpet! May leave that to DH though as we are off to the observatory this evening for an astronomy night. I am very excited about this even though I don't really know what we will be doing.

Keep meaning to say that I've found several wasps recently... One on the bedroom windowsill and one on the landing floor. I must have the heating on too high if they're waking up :o but do check the folds of your curtains etc as they like to hibernate there. We found lots in the bookcases when we emptied them too. I don't mind wasps when they're outside, but don't want to tread on one by mistake...

LW - CAMRA are lucky to have you. Pity they don't pay you... Maybe you should think about doing freelance work for food/travel publishers collating/checking data. You sound a lot more efficient than most of the freelancers I used to use. Freelance work might fit in nicely with your dog-sitting too.

Door decoration constructed and stuck on the door. Fire lit. I need to decide whether to do some baking tonight or have an early night and get stuff done in the morning, when I hope to be more energetic...

I didn't learn anything about the night sky as youngster, I guess because we always lived in light polluted areas but over the last few years I have seen things and become really interested. This is my favourite time of the year as I can see more and some of the planets are more visible. I am hoping after tonight I will have more of an idea of what I am looking at.

Today I have made cheese scones (not cheesy enough) and spicy pumpkin soup (a bit too spicy).
I've also taken delivery of 40 toilet rolls, 7kg of bread flour and 1kg of rice. Thanks, winter preppers!! :T
My house was full of teenagers earlier as they have now broken up for Christmas. Thankfully all the ones that don't belong here are gone, and one that does belong here but isn't at here at the moment, is on her way home, having been ice skating.

Oooh, and a belated welcome to baby Benjamin  many congratulations to seafarers and Mr Seafarer, pics soon pleeeease!

And..... drum roll..... I have an interview on Tuesday afternoon :j:j:j please send job-securing vibes my way :D:D

    Keep warm and snuggly folks!

    Evening all

I've managed a fair amount of flying today for a change.

DH home at 7pm - unheard of especially on a Friday, now asleep on the sofa. I'm not sure he's that well.

Busy horrid weekend with the glass being replaced in the bay windows, house will be freezing at the end. At least 2 of the boys will be away at squash most of the day and DS1 will either be in his room or at work.

    Wine o'clock I do believe.
