    Hey chaps thanks so much.

You're all absolutely right - I've no time to step back right now and no time to stop but something has to change - the next week or two are a bit crazy with work and planning so I'm going to make a list and plod through it.

Take each day as it comes.

Thanks for the crafting stuff pages back I'll read that later today - I'm taking an hour between one job and another to just read/relax.

Yesterday I worked as well as we had an event on so I'm not sure when my next day off is - I'm probably tired and overwhelmed I guess. Its been such a long haul from no money to full on job that I'm in a bit of a spin about it all and have started to refuse to do extra jobs when offered, thats a start. Its a funny headspace going from needing every penny with no regular money coming in, to regular money and still needing every penny to pay off debts.

    (if that makes any sense)

I also think PhD's leave you in a spin, 4-5 years of having every second of your day feeling like you should/must work - I wonder if there's a survival group or something for ex-PhD students???? Does that feeling of 'must do something' every minute of the day ever go away........

YAY to daughters birthdays Trog - lovely to hear about that and bunting and parties I've promised myself I'll read back properly later today.

    Todays plan.
    Womble land 4.5 hours
Then garden for lady I'm not sure I want to keep gardening for but get this out way as its niggling at me - then cross this off list
Call into nice old garden lady and have a chat about what she wants to do next
Put cheques from lots of extra work in bank
    Text lady about eggs
Darwin to garage for intestine op (exhaust) - changed garages to the one over from my work so thats not a big deal but means I have to get there earlier than normal.
DD to bus to town - pick her up later - mind her to take her phone
DS to sort out room more and organise stuff for charity shops etc (he's only 7-8 weeks in total at home between now, summer holidays, dads and leaving in Sept)
Remind DS to phone Uni and research SAAS stuff
Walk doggies somewhere nice a couple times today
    Book car tyre place
Re-organise veg class lesson to one hour earlier as have board meeting same night - phone college
frog in bog for tea so thats easy - sausages out freezer
Change bed and do laundry for that
Water the meagre plants I have and make sure I don't kill them
    Feed chooks.
Put up a nice few photos of dogs and paddling to remind self I live in a great place - will do a mini blog
Put feet up for one hour today and read stuff between one job and next.
Put ad together for paper - we think we want to move from here and go look in solicitors for smaller rented accomodation. Still pondering this one.
Make lunch and take it to work
Check banks etc and move money to cc's - £500 PAD to captain.

Now it sounds like alot but its not - a few of them once crossed off won't occur again and I can forget them - like the naggy garden lady I'm not sure I want to keep working for - I just don't like her attitude - can't put my finger on it. But, I don't want to work for her anymore.

Thanks for listening/reading my rants. I've written in a 'read for an hour' in my list. So I'll catch you all later.

    Morning Pippi!

So sorry you're feeling down, especially now that the time of sunshine and flowers is coming up. I expect you're right and it is just about having too much to deal with, it certainly sounds crazy-busy from down here. As the others have said, time to step back and prioritize. Not sure what we can do to help, but we're here to listen and if there's anything else just give us a shout.

    That's a big PAD pippi.

I just want to echo what everyone has said. You have had a big change in your life. PhD, no work, lots of work, kiddie winks growing up.

Things will even out again and you'll feel better. Just try and schedule some "me" time in there somewhere.

Oh and pop by for a rant if you need one. We will all be here with the kettle on and a listening ear (or a reading eye maybe?)

    Take care xx

    Hi Pippi and everyone,

Pippi ((hugs)) hope you feel better soon and going to the doctors sounds like just the right thing to do x

I also echo what everyone else has said there have been a lot of huge changes going on and sometimes when we're so busy rushing around with stuff there isn't the time to adjust to all these things / take them all in.

Anyways i just wanted to wish you well and say hi to everyone else too xx

    ((((((((hugs))))))))) Pippi

Sorry to hear that you are feeling a bit flat. I agree with Keiss though - far better to recognise/acknowledge your feelings early on and seek out a chat with the Doc asap.

I also agree with Starnac regarding seeking out a listening ear.

And remember - change is discombobulating, and we human beings are prone to discombobulation at the drop of a hat - yep, us 'sophisticated' humans, with our opposable thumbs and the ability to surf the information superhighway at will!

Glad that Prioritization Pippi is part of your plan - and that restorative walks with the dawgies are on there too.

    Best wishes, Greying x

    Hey up
Bit brighter here today got most (not all) of my list done yesterday - and bit the frog (haven't eaten it fully yet but I've bitten its head off). I like the work but I don't like the way this silly lady talks to me like I'm 'staff' and at her beck and call before anyone else. I've maybe one more hour to do later this week and then she's off my list.

Today - gardening on a different island so a ferry to catch later
DS to help out - which means I'll get more done
Car to garage with 2 very bald tyres - how did that happen?
    Chooks fed/dogs walked
    DD home on study leave
Tea - hmm need think about that one
    Check banks
Take work diary for ferry ride and begin to write my report for the end of the month
Phone gardening class and ask nicely to meet up earlier that we'd planned
Perhaps pop to town when I'm back
Pop into solicitors and ask for a viewing on a house, I love this house but its huge and in lots of ways it doesn't work for us anymore, after the summer there will only be me and DD mainly here. Being in town/near to a bus route would be handy for both of us and cut down on car expenses.
    Milk/bread out freezer
Pop into Old lady who's lovely and talk about what she'd like done in her garden this week.
Write my monthly invoice and write my expenses for work - got a flight in there so I need that paid asap.
PAD to cards - yesterdays one was a 'one off' work payment so it went straight to card

I've not gone to Dr - still thinking that one through - works calming down from early June (we've a thing due in on the 8th so after that its calmer). After then I have to say no to extra work - I just can't easily juggle it. But perhaps a chat would be good?

I hope you all have a great day today - I'm off to check the banks and see what's what.

Have a great one. Elderflower cordial recipe is here (for Starnac) x

Waves to greying-sorry we cross posted.

You're all very right and the word dicombuwhotsist makes me giggle - although I can't spell it!

Have a great day and thanks for giving me a hug - I've needed it and a priority kick up the bottom, needed that too!
