    Hi Everyone

Sorry i've not posted in a while but i've been on my holibobs :j and of course have been recovering ever since getting back :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: - Only just got up *almost* on time whereas the last few days have seen me getting up a few hours late - Oops :o

I have tried to keep up with reading but have been unable to post or been just far too tired.

Hopefully i am off on an adventure this weekend too :T - well a morning, afternoon or day out somewhere but calling it an adventure makes it seem far more exciting ;) Poor OH though thinks i'm expecting far too much - the poor lad has been with me long enough to realise that a coffee and cake in a cafe or fish and chips will do me very nicely :D

Your day sounds very exciting though Pippi - am slightly envious of all the charity shops - hope you find some glorious bargains :D

Keiss your sewing machine shop sounds amazing - do they give lessons in the shop at all ? i ask as we've a new sewing machine shop here and the brilliant thing is that you can book in for lessons - in some ways its not cheap but i think its really good value i *think* it works out at £10 an hour (no lunch or anything provided) ? Anyways of course the lessons bring people in who already have machines and want to learn something or newbies who do the lessons and then order a machine :)

And pippi - how very exciting to have paid a credit card off :T:T:T Does that mean you just have 1 creditor left now ? I am still juggling 4 creditors but its not too bad as i only pay 2 of them (the other two are 1 overdraft that i live in :o and money i owe OH :o)

I will PM you soon Pippi - the time just seems to have disappeared on me ! i'm off to work in a very short while bleurgh! But before then want to look for a new job *fingers crossed*

hope everyone else is well and happy too :)

    Hello all,

Gosh it does seem very busy and productive on here. I have been keeping up but not posting as I feel like I haven't got anything interesting to add! I seem to be just keeping my head above water. At least I have managed to plant out lots of veg plants though; lots of beans, squashes and perpetual spinach, so at least they can get on with growing. Of course they initally had a shock at the cold, and now they are getting baked in the heat!

The major event has been a belated 6th birthday party for DD last weekend, made me think of you Pippi. She wanted to decorate the place with bunting, so we made some out of triangles cut from scraps of used wrapping paper stuck on gift ribbon (I was given a whole spool a while ago by someone on Freegle, along with a load of other stuff), and it looks really good. Then we needed party bags, so in true MSE fashion I made those out of newspaper, reinforced with card from old cereal boxes, with ribbon handles, and the guests all decorated their own by sticking on paper shapes etc. It was a big hit and some of the parents said how geat they were and asked if I could show them how to make them! They are really pretty easy to make and I did think of getting the guests to make their own bags first, but OH acted as a guinea-pig and he didn't find it all that easy so vetoed that idea!

Anyway it made me think of you Pippi and I wondered if you could do 'recycled parties' at Womble HQ, or run workshops on showing people how to make recycled stuff for children etc.

Now I'm quite fired up to see what else I can make!

Anyway hope everyone else is enjoying the warmer weather and getting a chance to do fun stuff!

Ahhhh! Bless you troglodyte, you have jogged my memory as to something that I had seen that I had meant to tell Pippi about, as I thought it might be a recycling 'craft' that could be used on the roadshows/open days.

Making bunting out of used carrier bags - actually alot more glam than it sounds!! :D There is a blog tutorial here and the original u-tube video made by the Eden Project is here (scroll down to the bottom of the decoration ideas page, it is the last video clip). I have to say, I have slight concerns about inhaling too much plastic 'fumes', but if the Eden project are promoting it....... To be honest, I didn't realise it could be made to look so pretty - and I love the EP presenter's tip about making 'nice gingham' using the 'every little helps' supermarket bags - who woulda thunk??? ;)

Hope you are all well, and that the weekend weather stays fabulous for you whatever y'all up to.

Thanks for the link Greying. I fancy a go at that now. I too have loads of carrier bags under the sink which never get used as they are in such short supply in Wales since they brought in the carrier bag tax. I don't know what I think will happen if I use them hmmmmm???

Haha Starnac, I am the opposite I dont have any and refuse to buy any. I do have a very nice wicker basket now and not afraid to use it. Love those links though what a great idea. MeanQueen makes bags and sells them at the art centre out of all kinds of things including cat food pouches. She did a tutorial on her blog. Amazing when you use imagination

Mrs moo. I have recently acquired a wicker basket and love it. I think my DH is a bit embarrassed when I take it down the village to get supplies but I love it and that's all that matters :rotfl:

Like the sound of cat food bags :D

    :rotfl::rotfl: to OH being embarrassed.

Here is a link to the crafty bits on Meanqueen blog. She is a bit extreme in some things frugal but I do like reading her blog
