Right, that's it - I need a wally trolley! (sorrrrrryyyyyy.... I mean a Chic Shopper
)
Just back from Lewisham on the bus with a carrier full of small sweet potatoes, another full of Cox's apples, two butternut squash, three huge leeks, a small bunch of bananas which the lady who sold me the leeks gave me as a freebie :A
That little lot cost me £4, by the way :money:
AND
A set of bedding and two spare pillowcases from TK Maxx, a packet of millet (so I can try out Gillian McKeith's millet mash) and some Kallo stock cubes (currently on special offer at Holland & Barrett), today's copy of the Times, and the two pairs of boots I took to get reheeled.
I think my arms are falling off

Names mine came from years ago, me sayin to a friend 'poor lil_me', kinda stuck!
Anyway, went to Tescos, ended up with an arguement in opticians, them saying we may have to pay for replacement as we tried to fix them (which didn't work) because my prime concern is the fact he's wearing his glasses, and thought may put him over, these are the second identical pair that have snapped in the same place within 2 weeks. Waiting for manager to call me on Wednesday. Can see us ending up going elsewhere in future if that is the case. Other DSs glasses were ordered over 2 weeks ago and still not in yet either! Maybe a friend was right, Tescos should stick to shopping and not do opticians etc :mad:One day I might be more organised...........

Afternoon all
Been doing some travel training with my best friend. It is likely that I will be loosing my driving licence due to medical/ health reasons and thus I need to be able to travel freely on public transport... something that fills me with fear! I managed to get into town and back on my own, meeting up with said friend in town. All quite tense, but a least I managed to do it and get on the right bus at the right time!!! Want to retain some of my independence and don't want to be relying on other people and paying taxi prices unless I really need too!
Am off to do some tidying up in my bedroom, lots of clothes to be put away and some filing to do.
:heartpuls CG :heartpulsEver wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -

DS had to wear glasses from age 3. We actually went to a non-chain optician as they were fantastic and very understanding when we were continually having to get repairs made. It was just him being a normal 3 year old which caused the breakages etc. At least he wore them! When he got a bit older and into more expensive glasses, I suggested he take them off for contact sports and he could see to do that anyway!!!

If you have a look in the yellow pages for sari shops then they would probably have the material that you want.
Have just put a huge quiche in the oven and am parboiling potatoes to
make spicy wedges later to have with the quiche.

Been to town with DS and DD. Had a very chatty breakfast at a wonderful old cafe in town. It was opened in 1932 and still looks the same now as it did then. It's like stepping back in time. DS and DD always have a competition to see how many famous people they can name from the hundreds of black and white photos they have on the walls. We all love the place.
Shopping after that and managed to get DD two pairs of trousers and two belts for £8.50. Well chuffed with that. DS also bought me some freesia bulbs as an early mother's day present. They are my favourite flowers so it will be nice to have some in the summer. DD also bought me some diabetic turkish delight (another fave of mine) from Thorntons.
Uniforms have been ironed for next week (and some for the week after) and the last of the washing is now being done. I have some chicken marinating as I type and it smells gorgeous - don't tend to use cumin much when I'm cooking and I don't know why because it really smells wonderful.
Going to do some more jobs before I settle down to watch the Six Nations match at Twickenham. Won't say too much about that just yet as both teams have been struggling recently. Hopefully it will be worth watching though.
My name really explains itself. Though my name isn't Annie! I love books and always have at least one on the go with another two or three lined up. Right now I am just finishing the new Barbara Nadel - A Passion for Killing - then I will be reading Love In The Time Of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It's one I've been meaning to read for ages. After that I have the new Andrea Camilleri then I'm going to track down a copy of Madame Bovary from the library. So, I guess my name is quite appropriate for me.
